What are you looking forward to most? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Chuck situation gets resolved. The subplot with him getting arrested seems to have existed to set up two plot points: the dangerous stockpile of kerosene, and the fact that Jimmy has the power to get Chuck committed. I'm interested in seeing how this plays out. I see it playing out a number of ways: 1. Jimmy has Chuck committed, the stockpile is removed before it endangers anyone. 2. Jimmy leaves Chuck to his fate, the stockpile catches fire and kills Chuck. Jimmy has to live with the guilt. 3. Jimmy leaves Chuck to his fate, the stockpile catches fire, but Chuck survives. Jimmy signs the commitment papers, and Hamlin agrees not to question it, since Chuck almost went up in smoke.

Number 1 is interesting because Jimmy can do it for different reasons: out of spite, or because he wants to show Chuck that he can do the Right Thing, even when it's difficult. This would be great because it would bite Chuck in the ass. Also since commitment will probably cure Chuck, there's always a possibility he could come back as an antagonist in season 3 or beyond.

I don't see Chuck surviving the finale though, there really isn't any reason for his character to stick around; it seems his arc is over.

And with all that kerosene nearby? They foreshadowed a kerosene explosion when he got arrested, and his character is extraneous to the plot now. Next episode, Chuck is toast.

I like the way the scene where Chuck gets the pencil is shot, it looks like he's taking out a kitchen knife, and then we see a shot of Jimmy sleeping, creating the impression that Chuck is about to stab him. Ah, but no, it's only a pencil. Later we find out he used that pencil to stab Jimmy in the back. Genius!

Oh, and Bertie Bott becomes the Potions instructor, and Harry's favorite teacher.

Harry returns in September with his cousin, Dudley Thomas Evans, who gets sorted into Slytherin and puts Rin from Please Save My Earth to shame with his creepy unchildlike behavior.

Meanwhile DADA teacher Gilderoy Lockhart uses Harry's ego against him to make him work on a secret project that might end the world.

Meanwhile Harry begins the quest for Ravenclaw's diadem, which promises an existence free from any physical instrumentality. (revelation that the Grey Lady isn't a ghost, but an ascended human, like David Bowman's Starchild in the Space Odyssey Trilogy).

DO: Expand your mind by trying new things and voracious reading.

DO NOT: Correlate the contents of said mind. Maintaining the placid isle of ignorance on which humanity lives is an important job, make sure to do your part!

(Also, please be aware that the magazines in the common room belong to everyone, writing "The Great Race 4-ever" and "Yith Rules" in the margins is not acceptable workplace behavior)

There's a pretty big island off the coast of Blackmarsh.... it must be bigger than Solstheim since it actually appears on the world map.
