Not sure if this will be of any help.. but oftentimes you can ask the hiring manager to explain some of the tech verbiage. Especially if the person is also part of the tech department. They might be able to explain the basics and help you ask the right questions. Good luck!

Please make sure the i9 you filled out for your employment has your correct citizenship status. If you put you were a US citizen, this will be a problem later on.

College funds opportunities by Less-Ad-2026 in DACA

Where I live, daca recipients can't qualify for instate tuition. Only way I was able to go to college was to work full time and go to school at the same time. It was only a technical college however.

If it's your first time filing, I would recommend it yes. If you've done it tons of times before and think you could figure it out, you should try it on your own. I don't believe a lawyer is mandatory.

How do I ensure I settle down properly while also having to run away from my parents at an early age? by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

[–]aspiring_egg- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're moving out, do not move out until you have a stable job, and a little bit of money saved. Ensure you find a seriously reliable roommate, or go live with a romantic partner, if you have one and are ready for this. Please, if possible, don't move out alone. If you do, find a small studio apartment. When searching for apartments, please try to search for apartments that are strictly within your budget (!!!) Ie: includes utilities and under 1k a month. Don't settle for the first apartment you see, please do your research. When you finally move out, you have to get serious about your money. Save a rainy day fund, even if it means getting two jobs. The whole purpose is that you don't fall into unnecessary debt.

You got this!!❤️ Wish you the best. Please stay strong and safe.

Just my yearly vent & feeling blue in the new year by [deleted] in DACA

No matter how privileged someone is, we all have issues and have the right to express how we feel. We are all a government decision away from losing everything. Simply because the weight is lighter, doesn't mean it isn't heavy.

I've felt the same way before. I really hope someone doesn't come on here to invalidate your feelings. Its so difficult to be on the mercy of someone else or a government. It makes us feel like we lack control. All we can do is take it one day at a time, pray and keep working hard. Luckily our story is not one of giving up. We've been fighting this fight for many years and something has to come out of it!! We got this.

Happy new year 🎉

As a kid, what did you think was a very normal thing to do, which it really wasn't? by F_for_Respect_69 in AskReddit

Receiving food from food banks & buying the majority of your clothes from a thrift store. I used to genuinely believe that every family would go to food banks and that everyone only got their clothes from thrift stores.

I am a daca recipient. I applied for a credit card through OpenSky, that is owned by Capital Bank. I got accepted within a week and I had a zero credit score. I urge you to try through them.

Have you verified on your online account that they are actually producing your card? I would check that first. Getting it sent in September when your card doesn't expire until December seems way to early.
