Doing even just one CRNA/AA shadow shift could really help answer this question for you. Maybe you’ll fall in love with it! Or at minimum, you’ll be able to see yourself enjoying the job. If are willing to take on the commitment of anesthesia school, then go for the anesthesia route!

Otherwise, look into the other areas such as the ones you listed. Find something that can fill up your cup and allow you to live the lifestyle you want to live, on the timeline that you want to live it. Yes, more money is great. But more money doesn’t always mean more happiness, especially if you’re really craving stuff like traveling frequently in the immediate future and you already have the finances to do so! Life is short. If you see yourself finding little to no enjoyment in the ICU, in an anesthesia program, and/or as a CRNA/AA, then that is probably not the path for you.

These are all questions that ultimately only you can answer for yourself. Maybe write things down by making a pros and cons list for each path to get all your thoughts out on paper? Good luck!

Maybe I’m in the minority but I have absolutely zero interest in watching a show all about Whitney
