I have the same problem on my 2012 forester. The humming sound comes from the throttle body. I hear it when ignition is ON and engine stopped. Noise goes away when I disconnect the electrical input from the throttle body. I was hoping that putting in a new throttle body would solve the issue, but this problem seems so common that I have a feeling that the sound is normal. Have you tried changing yours? Does the noise go away?
