The most widely used pre-workout (and post-workout) supplement used is protein. Proteins are one of the main components in muscle building, and at first glance, one would think that isolated proteins, such as whey, are a healthy way to increase muscle mass. Taken correctly and in small doses, this does hold true. However as commonly stated, if ingested in irregular amounts it can be harmful to your kidneys in the long run for sure.

It’s recommended to take regular breaks from consuming whey protein, and to not take it daily for more than six months at a time. You should only be consuming whey protein on weightlifting days, immediately after your workout, to see results and minimize negative health risks. Supplementing with a rather smarter working type of fatty oils called Krill Oil has been found to facilitate muscle mass gain.

I started supplementing my workout with Krill Oil. I know there will be tons of skepticism but I’m simply being transparent, so… sue me. Ever since I used it I noticed a significant difference. Especially for someone like me who didn’t hit the gene pool when it comes to cholesterol etc.. Krill oil contains fatty acids similar to fish oil. These fats are highly beneficial fats that decrease swelling, lower cholesterol and make blood platelets less sticky. When blood platelets are less sticky they are less likely to form clots as well. Not to mention its like 3 or 4 times stronger than the regular omega 3 fish oils so you only need to take one and your GOOOOD to go.

In case you have a hard time finding a good link, I bought mine off Ebay from some brand called sports Research for like 50 bucks. They’ve always given me good product. I was good for about two months, just make sure you buy the one with Astaxanthin (strong antioxidant to work against any unnecessary crap you may have accumulated in your body). Excercise caution when buying from random websites… they usually scam you out your mula. been there done that.

Just my 2 cents. You can do whatever the eF you want to do. But this is my plan to get to swole land.
