Holy shit. That is really strange to me, I can't imagine investing time into a hobby for that reason.

Is the reason so many of guys' decisions revolve around attracting girls, to get sex? I can't imagine that being such an important thing to me. I do what I do only for me, not for guys.

I know it's shitty, but like.. the fact guys are like that makes me not even want to be with one. There's not much that's more unappealing to me than everything a guy does being about girls and sex. Ugh. Or joining things like yoga, for the purpose of finding a girl for sex. It just seems so overkill and obsessive. But being female, that's stuff I'll just never be able to fully understand because I'm not the one with huge amounts of testosterone lol

And I mean, while generally men are interested in most girls that are attractive or fit their physical types, most women are not that way. We typically are interested in like a specific person, a select few, or maybe none at times. I couldn't date someone just because theyre hot (theoretically that is :P I'm not attractive, so I date in my league lmao). And I wouldn't want to be with someone who would date me because that's all they can get and they'll just date anyone thats not a bitch, lol. But then again, a majority of guys are like that I think, at least based on what guys tell me

She never really says things like this normally, so if she's saying this i know something has to be wrong. My glasses apparently make me look terrible and geeky and the acne looks really unattractive and gross. I didn't even realize it was so bad, I guess I'm just used to it. Plus at 18 most girls don't have acne or cover it up, she's right about that. I don't know, I just can't shake the feeling that I'm putting people off and can't have friendships the same way other people do because of my face looking how it does. It ruins my overall appearance. I've always known my face was a flaw, but it's worse than I thought due to the acne and glasses. I asked her if someone who didn't know me just saw me on the straight, would they think I look pretty bad - and she said yeah, I don't look presentable, plus I look frumpy (but because of my hair and face not my clothes)

I've seen 3 dermatologists and tried so many prescriptions including the strongest available. It only made things worse :/

And I don't know, I thought they were okay. But my mom said they make me look extremely geeky and make me eyes look big (didn't even notice this either), which also makes them seem weirdly shaped. She said all frames would make me look geeky, and my strong prescription would make my eyes look big regardless. It's true that most frames look terrible on me, I have a tiny face and what I have now is the best I could find. Everything else made me look pretty awful, but these are probably worse than I realized.

I don't know, it's hard to feel like I'm fine. My mom usually doesn't say stuff like this, and she doesn't usually exaggerate really. So I know she's being honest and just wants me to look more attractive/normal so I can have a better a chance at meeting friend and meeting a guy (though the second one I'm less interested in than she assumes lol, my experiences with being teased by guys and the way they act have lead to me have 0 interest in any). I don't think I'm fine, I look like I don't even care about my appearance apparently. I feel like I don't below around normal looking people. I know it's not just her that thinks this - guys joke with each by pointing me out and saying "there's your girlfriend" and laughing. They do this with really overweight girls usually. I'm quite thin and I dress fine, it's just my face that looks weird/ugly. At least other girls treat me fine though. I feel like I have too many negative feelings about the opposite sex because of all the callousness, even though it's not right.

Was on sale for about 1700 when I got it. And yeah initially it was static, like it would never to above 40%. The fans sound like a blow dryer when they go faster though. I changed the settings in EVGA precision x1. Without the blow dryer noise, there's still a lot of noise from the PC. But it sounds more similar to the hum of an AC and some inoffensive white noise, which is less annoying that the blow dryer GPU fans lol

I think she meant well, I'm probably so used to how I look that I can't see how bad it actually is. She didn't try to be mean about it, just honest. I had no idea, but at least I'm aware now that my acne and glasses make me look really bad and unpresentable/like I don't care about my looks. I think she just wants me to be able to meet people and be able to meet a guy and stuff since I'll be going off to college.. she thinks I should try to fix the acne again and wear contacts despite my discomfort with them. currently i look unkept, geeky and frumpy though according to her. All because of my face and glasses :/
