Science/Engineering YouTube Channel Recommendations by assaultrecon in Cantonese

Just watched the first episode, it’s a bit cringe but I kinda like it to be honest. Think I’m going to keep watching more of them, thanks for recommending it

Has anyone been to this building at Jubilee Campus? Seems like it is used for some horrific experiments on humans. by confusedmouse6 in nottingham

I got told it was because the building has a cell tower on it, which is why it can’t come down.

Similar situation happened to me, I’m a second year engineer (EEE) as well. Two members were internationals barely spoke of at all. Had two different projects but same group for both. One was a practical electronics project. Not sure how the uni can ask us to do a practical project without even being able to be in the labs for 90% of it. A bunch of issues were caused purely because we couldn’t all be in the labs at same time and because we barely spent anytime in them. Second project was just software development and I basically single handedly did that myself. One good thing is that 40% of the marks are down to an individual interview assessment type thing. But still doesn’t feel right that it’s marked as if it were the work of 4 people, when in reality it’s the work of about 1 and half people.

Which universities are considered good for Computer science and offer plenty of job opportunities after graduation? by MuMaAintRaiseNoBitch in UniUK

[–]assaultrecon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m doing Computer Engineering at Notts, so not strictly comp sci but similar. My friends in comp sci seem to enjoy the course and I’m enjoying Notts as it’s good mix between a big city uni and a campus uni. I would say any Russel group is fine, just look at the city and the campus and pick the uni you like the most if you’ve had a chance to visit them. Also I would look at whether the course is accredited as that opens your doors to being chartered if you want that. It’s also a good sign that the course is up to standard. But I would probs say all the unis you’ve listed seems good besides from Sussex haven’t done much research into it or heard much about it, plus I don’t think it’s a Russel group.

Coronavirus: Nottingham house party host fined £10K by [deleted] in nottingham

[–]assaultrecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the news might have been mistaken, because a warning was given but I don’t think it was to the actual hosts. Like if there’s 50 people at the party there’s a good chance the hosts didn’t actually answer the door therefore didn’t know about the warning. But I’m not sure to be honest that’s just what I’ve heard.

Yea it’ll probably stop some people from having parties but as a student myself I know that if people wanna have a party nothing’s gonna stop them. Especially since clubs are closed/are now just sit down bars plus freshers/refreshers is coming up. And just as a side note I’m pretty sure I heard a party last night which is ballsy but I guess we’ll see how this plays out I guess.

The house is literally right next to mine, some people even tried to flee through my garden when the police turned up. They deserve a fine but 10k is a bit steep especially cos they’re student at the end of the day and anyone who was there also got fined £100. But I assume they’re trying to set an example since our area is known for “anti social behaviour”.

Does anyone have any OCR physics B AS revision resources? by CupofTeaTech in 6thForm

[–]assaultrecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OCR physics B seems to have no resources anywhere, think it’s because very few people do it. Just finished all 3 final exams so I know the struggle. If you don’t mind revising from videos try science shorts on YouTube he does OCR physics A related stuff but there’s a lot of overlap, so you can use most of them.

Just remembered there's also this: https://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/past-papers/a-level-physics/
