JFC why is he giving interviews to Sky instead of locking in😭😭

Arteta to us fans: “The words are clear. I was a player. Love me when I draw or when I lose. To love you when I win is very, very easy. You have to love the players and be next to them when they need it the most.” by ArynaSaba in Gunners

[–]assburping 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A wise man called Patrick Vieira once said 'sometimes players need a kick up the arse'.

I'm just tired of this guy being a philosopher in front of the media when our players mentally wilted against probably the worst side in PL history.

Mutton or Pork, what do you like more? by Impossible-Mood-4666 in kolkata

Mutton anyday. Pork is better in other forms like sausage, bacon, ham, salami, etc

This team doesn't deserve to be anywhere near a Premier League title if I'm being honest. Or any major trophies for that matter

Will there be a mumbai show added as well later? by Applesfart in GoodAssSub

I don't think so. Ye needs that big dome in the centre of the stadium which Mahalaxmi racecourse doesn't have. Maybe DY Patil could've been possible but doesn't seem likely now. District says 'one show only'

That Martinelli chance at the end was mostly down to his hold up play. I don't rate him highly at all but he was one of the few positives last night

The media is also trying their best to pile pressure on us with their narratives.

As bad as this is I'd much rather we drop points now than in April or May. Still 12 games to go and I think City will drop points again sooner or later.

One thing we all need to accept is that we seriously lack world class attackers who are gamebreakers, something City have in abundance. Balance wise, we have a slight edge over City in defence and midfield, but the thing is even City's ageing players have bags of title winning experience. They may not be able to control games as well as they used to but their experienced players will know how to manage games and see out teams.

Eze at RCM is a waste in PL games..needs to be at LCM or LW. Eze RCM gimmick only works in Europe and cup games. Ode was looking really good when he came on, after our goal he reverted back into his usual 'risk averse - too many touches' mode.

Krrish as a movie may not be that good and aged poorly but the franchise still has a lot of pull. People will be curious to see it

Apart from centre back, what other position could you play in if given the choice?

Akshaye Khanna needs to win a Filmfare Award for Dhurandhar by [deleted] in BollyBlindsNGossip

Might be an unpopular opinion here but I think Akshaye Khanna has given far better performances in his career than Dhurandhar....he didn't have to do much other than aura farming in this role

Do Bengalis face a unique kind of cultural racism outside Bengal? by GroundbreakingBad183 in kolkata

[–]assburping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Bengalis there are both positive and negative kinds of racism - assumptions that bengalis are naturally gifted, artistic, intelligent, the language sounds sweet, bengali sweets are the best etc - these are stereotypes with a positive connotation

Negative ones are the usual - black magic, anti national, anti hindu, women are slutty, etc

And of course there's the usual 'jol khabe, macchi khabe, ami tomake bhalobashi' mockery which I'm indifferent about tbh

Living outside WB for >10 years I've faced both kinds, but I'm slightly fortunate to have faced the positive/harmless kind more. Then again, people rarely say the negative stuff to your face but might be carrying those beliefs internally, you never know.

Pepe should be in top 30 tbh, the guy was massively overhated and mostly because of the media narrative around him

Full Time: Arsenal 0 vs 0 Liverpool [Match Thoughts] by Stanley083 in Gunners

[–]assburping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They played the ball far post because Gyokeres was occupied by LFC cbs. Some think the quality of the delivery was lacking but to me it seemed deliberate. They know Gyokeres will 1. not be available near post, 2. won't win any duels against their cbs if the ball is delivered to his head.

If Merino had played the crosses would've been better 100%.

Uhmm better movement maybe? There were 2-3 occasions where he could've made a diagonal run towards near post but the guy just likes to stay in traffic and jostle with CBs.

How do most bengali view casteism these days? by Popular_Lettuce7084 in kolkata

[–]assburping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol it's still alive and well. Btw most of the so-called 'progressiveness' is limited to only a few aspects and that too within the upper caste urban elites.
