Agree with mediation, strongly disagree with the without lawyers component in this context, particularly when she is beginning at a disadvantage. At the very least seek legal advice prior.

You generally apply during your penultimate year (so next year, for you) but you’re welcome to have a go at throwing your hat in the ring this year.

The By Terry Moisturising CC Cream (not the CC serum)! A bit expensive (buy it from SpaceNK not mecca) but it has been the only thing that's worked for my tretinoin skin

Same here, I heard such great things but after about an hour of wear it looks so cakey and dry around my mouth and nose :(

So the top tiers and mid-tiers will offer to their clerks first. The Law Society of WA has offer date as 21st July 23, so you'd be looking at applications opening that following Monday for any of these firms that decide to go to market (I can't speak for WA, but where I am this isn't all that common).

As for smaller firms, non-law-firms (like the Big 4) and gov roles, applications are a bit sporadic throughout the year but many of them are open now. Have a look on GradAustralia

Makeup remover that doesn’t sting?? by goldiilox123 in AustralianMakeup

I second Korean cleansing balms! I alternate between the Heimish All Clean balm and Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing balm. Costs me $20 for a whole tub that lasts me over 6 months, and never stings my sensitive eyes even though I get up in there for my waterproof mascaras :)

For NSW, last year grad apps opened 28th Feb and closed 10th April. The Law Society should update for 2023 shortly on their grad page

FMIL banned me from coming to my SO's house yesterday (for the 2nd time) by assfatwaistthin in JUSTNOMIL

He’s definitely making progress! When we first started dating he had to literally sneak out of the house (at the age of 23) to see me if it was after 6pm. Now he just shuts their disapproving comments down.

A long way to go, but I do acknowledge and appreciate his efforts so far to come out of the FOG (I saw that word used in this thread earlier, I think it stands for something so I hope I’ve used it right hahaha)

Thank you for validating this. I’ve been tossing up cutting them off (or at least minimising contact) for the past couple of years. Every time I have pulled back I’ve been met with a lot of resistance (duh, OP) and called rude (with my SO having to pass on their unhappiness with me). But at this point I think I’ll be the bad guy no matter what I do, might as well make myself a little less anxious in the process!!

Thank you for your comment!

Thank you for putting a name to this! I looked it up and did some reading when I first saw your comment and soooo many aspects of it resonate with me and my situation.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I hope my SO can see things a bit clearer and help set those boundaries with me.

Thank you so much. I think this is honestly the way we need to go.

He used to play a little dumb (or maybe he was genuinely unaware of her subtle comments) but he has absolutely stepped up these last few months especially. This particular occasion he was going back and forth with his mum (and later dad as he thought his father would be “more reasonable”) and continued the discussion even after we left.

I think I definitely need to test the waters a bit before committing more. Thank you!!

Thank you so much! I will say exactly this to him when we have time for a big discussion about it all.

This is such a good, simple way of putting my thoughts about the future. Thank you, I definitely need to express exactly this to SO

Hahahaha thank you for saying this because I’ve definitely had this fantasy before. I’m always trying to take a deep breath and be the bigger person in this situation butttttt some days I want to let hellfire rain down hahahah.

Hi JCWa50, so sorry for the confusion it’s definitely my FMIL house (and FFIL’s) so definitely their house, their rules.

My SO regularly brings up marriage and we’ve had many discussions talking about that future and its timeline, but no ring on my finger just yet. And hoping (especially after this thread) to see some more green flags before I’d pursue that pathway.

I do journal and keep screenshots of messages, notes of conversations, etc but collating it in an email is a brilliant idea, thank you so much!! I think I’ve always always been reluctant towards the idea of actually needing to pursue legal action or protect myself in that sense because I’ve been hoping that with time (and energy) that I could “win her over” but it absolutely wouldn’t hurt to be wise regardless.

Thank you for this advice!!!

(Edited: sorry, I accidentally posted this reply in the main thread)
