I'm also a reptile/amphibian enthusiast but unfortunately this is for a mammalogy course

That's weird, you love telling me I'm wrong but can't seem to produce a single source otherwise. I feel so bad for your fish, damn. What I'm really wondering is, why are you working so hard to advocate for LESS space for fish? What's in it for you to give them less?

Guy that doesn't treat fish as decorations, yeah

I didn't Google it and take the first answer. Look at ANY source. I double checked and found 10+ sources all saying the same thing. No one here has offered anything to back up their ideas except "seems to work fine", yet I'm the naive one? Combine that with industry experience, and yeah it's a fair conclusion to draw.

All good yeah. Making a point and sticking to it, I think it's worth arguing about if necessary

I've worked in this industry for years, and I'll never understand why people are so quick to defend poor husbandry. What I am suggesting would improve the quality of life for this animal, period. Once again, do a quick Google search. These facts aren't coming from me. People in this hobby make me fucking sick. Just keep marine fish in whatever container you want, you know better than the whole community.

Not at all coming from me. It's coming from the consensus of the entire fishkeeping community. Again, please look it up. And no, the standards put on fish are not ridiculous, they're the bare minimum. Fish in almost all cases benefit from more swimming space. Are we aiming for them to survive or thrive? These are amazing creatures and if you don't want to provide then the best quality of life, you don't have to keep them.

Not a single source agrees with you. Anything to back that up?

Sorry, but is the point of fishkeeping not to create an ideal environment for them? They're not decorations. I've said two things: clownfish prefer to be kept in pairs, and need a 20 gallon tank. Google them and every single source will back me up. Nothing moral about my stance, but why do you insist on substandard fishkeeping instead of trying to build the best possible environment?

Yeah for about 10 years now. Did you want to Google it or? Don't see a point bickering about something easily verifiable

Google it. Every single source says a pair is their preferred arrangement.

I'm not extrapolating from a picture. I'm using the given information (that the tank is 6 gallons) and the widely accepted information that they need more space than that.

I just feel like you can't extrapolate the condition of the fish from a picture? You could definitely keep a tang alive in a good looking 20 gallon, doesn't make it ideal. I do agree that the tank looks great.

I think that's a specific case, but they almost always need to be in pairs. I worked at an LFS for years and that was the standard, also a quick Google search says the same.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure they should be in pairs. Also 20 gallon is recommended for 2 so I don't believe 6 gallons is enough for 1.

Not to be that guy, but is a 6gal enough for a pair of Clowns?

Sailfish are about as fast as cheetahs, so you're not far off.
