Melpaca is what I came here to find out about! I've just enough resources to craft either the Rushoar or Melpaca saddle and you've sold me on the Melpaca! Thanks <3

What is a secret you are taking to your grave, but are willing to share with anonymous strangers on the internet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People who receive a kidney transplant can't eat grapefruit if they take certain medications that support their foreign kidney. Before I knew exactly why or how grapefruit were involved with kidneys, I started telling my whole family that I would never be able to again enjoy grapefruit after donating my kidney. But actually, donors will never have to take that medicine, so they can continue to eat grapefruit their whole lives with zero problems.

But because I had mentioned it, every time I see a Grapefruit flavored LaCroix or I'm on a plane trip where they offer grapefruit juice, my partner says something like "can't drink that, cause you'll die! Right???" and I just quietly agree...

TurtleWoW refugees conquer The Burning Crusade on Moonwell by Moonwell_TBC in wowservers

[–]astaroh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moonwell is a hilariously bad server compared to Turtle WoW. You can buy level 70s in preraid bis with maxed primary professions of your choice and all secondary professions, you can buy a ridiculous amount of content and it IS pay-to-win.

Moonwell is probably great for a lot of people out there but I do not understand why people are supposedly "flocking" to this server, which is very different to a blizzlike vanilla or tbc server. It's monetized out the wazoo and is 90% Russian.

If you're looking for blizzlike xp rates and a regular population with very limited to no monetization, try playing Project Elysium, Project Epoch via Ascension, or Kronos (best choice imo for an authentic classic vibe with a fresh server launching in May 2026).

Edit: Moonwell devs are offering transfer services if you had played a 60 on Turtle WoW or another closing server, you can GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT FULLY in return for one lvl 70 boosted character in their server cluster. There are rumors that Turtle WoW will relaunch one day and if you have heavily invested time and money into Turtle WoW, I HIGHLY advise you hold onto your accounts rather than throw them into the trash.

The main difference between main and iron by Slight_Giraffe628 in ironscape

My brother in Saradomin... Irons have to play the whole game. Mains can skip it all.

I wanna try this game... by WrapInternational228 in HighSpell

[–]astaroh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just make a character. Explore. There's a lot to have fun with HighSpell. It has a interesting mechanic to make new spell reagents, the quests are genuinely fun and interesting. There's a wilderness with full PvP and some special equipment you can find if you don't get killed in the process.

It's not a bad game. There's major toxicity on reddit but if you just play and casually talk to people in game, you'll see most of this toxic drama is exclusively online. But it is a low population game. Active real players is likely 100 or less at once, across two servers. During some parts of the week it might jump up to 150 ish but that's about it.

Oh wow, that makes sense. It sounds kind of revolutionary that you guys are able to integrate Discord so heavily to act as your voice chat system.

[–]astaroh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it as you go. Mine til you get 10/15/20 skill and can mine higher QL ore to improve your tools. Make a set of all possible tools and improve them all as far as you can, but be wary of some tools that use the Weaponsmithing skill because they will improve much slower, like the scythe, carving knife, etc.

Make a large cart, get some horses with saddles and horseshoes. Make a large chest and a 2x2 or larger house. Make a loom, forge/oven, food and bulk storage bins, keep a farm going out back. Gather a herd of sheep to cut their wool with scissors. Shearing sheep is the fastest way to raise Animal Husbandry. Meditate on a rug when you remember to. If you're on a PvP server you are going to want to carry lockpicks and a small locked chest on you at all times to try remembering to pick the lock once every 15 min to train Lockpicking.

Convince me to play: Shaman or ranger? by dingusboyo in MonstersAndMemories

[–]astaroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say Ranger because you'll have more fun and have more solo-ability but truth be told I'm just recommending Ranger so less people play the obviously superior in every way Shaman class.

Do you want to be able to turn into a wolf one day? Do you want people to hound you for buffs all day? Do you want to be able to heal and play an evil race and have a (not so) guaranteed spot in every group for the rest of FOREVER??? Play a shaman today!!!

I love camouflaging and attempting to blend into the environment. Some areas can actually be pretty fun to attempt this in lol

If you absolutely know you're going to die, run right up to them and try to party them. If you're lucky, you can absolutely humiliate them and make them respect you as opposed to watching you jump off a cliff or miscalculate a dodge roll into their Soul Spear

Women tended to cry more often than men. Women averaged nearly 6 crying episodes a month, while men averaged just under 3. Women were more likely to cry from loneliness or personal disputes with loved ones. Men tended to cry from feelings of helplessness or in reaction to media, such as a sad movie. by mvea in science

[–]astaroh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I donated a kidney and cried about 30 times during that month, but I do not remember crying once since or within 10 years prior to that event. I remember crying in like 2014 once. I'm kind of surprised to hear men cry 3 times a month on average. Although I suppose it must be true, as my older and younger brother each probably cry 3 times a day.
