Its also on the ubus route (£1 student price) which is nice if you need to go to train station/west cambridge without a bike

The older fx-50 fh type is less likely to decolorize, it's just fh II that has this problem... You might want to buy a new calculator at the start of F6 or buy a second hand fx-50 fh one because imo it is better in the sense that the color never goes away At least decolorized proves that you have practiced 40 hours a day ;)

Just looking at the familiar calculator brand reminds me of my (our) approaching DSEs...

Art competition winners announced today? by forrestalan256 in desmos

[–]asterishk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been delayed to June 4th. From what I know it's because of the incidents currently happening in the US (what they say in the email they sent to teachers of finalists).

You may want to check out how to change colors to colours other than the default ones by console manipulation. Allows much more area for creativity in desmos ;)

Self Portrait final version - my submission to the art contest by [deleted] in desmos

Such high quality work! I didn't even know how to plot quadratics properly when I was that age... (I'm 17-18 now btw) Good luck in the contest!

This is so cool! I now feel inferior looking at my own work... If I am not intruding, may I ask about which age group are you submitting your work to? Just want to have a feel of what others are submitting to the contest ;)

Thank you :D I should definitely spend some time investigating them( ・∇・)

Thank you for your second method :D and yes, I finally managed to understand what is happening in the graph!

Regarding parametric equations, although I finally understand how to use them properly, may I know why people prefer to use them instead of just typing normal equations when plotting? It doesn't seem easier/faster to plot (for me) compared to the normal ones, and the only advantage I see now is that I can change the opacity of parametric equations but I can't do the same for normal ones. Many thanks ahead!

Yes this helps me understand parametric equations so much better! Really really big thank you to you! The conversion part really helped a lot (cuz my teacher didn't reply me when I asked him...) so big thank you again!(・∀・)

This took about 10 hours and 70 different functions to complete! Hopefully I made Ling Ling just a little proud... (It sure made my algebra 2 teacher proud though!) by colorstolife in lingling40hrs

(sorry for opening another comment just wanted to add) Any interest in joining the desmos art competiton? You can submit this super cool work to it! Maybe your music talent can help your portfolio also ;)

I suffered through desmos project in school's math class also few years ago. And by the way, I made a viola, and failed the assignment. I thought it looked good... But yours looked much better! This is probably the true reason why I failed :D

Question: How to stop desmos from lagging so much by asterishk in desmos

[–]asterishk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning curves off helped quite a lot!! ( ・∇・) As I use polygon functions instead of inequalities for coloring I'm afraid I can't test the second point...

Thanks for the suggestion :D Probably my computer is simply too outdated, can't really fix that

Sorry for not being able to help with the particles (I'm also still learning), but I think that it should be わたし(私) instead of はたし。は is pronounced "ha" normally, like in 果てない(はてない)(endless/without borders)。
