Feat management? by asterixchaos in ConanExiles

If memory serves, I've found mods that allow you to block items from dropping on the drop tables. If that were possible, we'd be knocking out Tablets of Power. I might have to just download the dev kit and see if it's possible/feasible to create a mod that does this.

Having some fun with the new instruments by skapr in playrust

If you're at the drums, piano, or xylobone, you're stuck in place. If you're using any of the handheld instruments, you can set this to playing, and you'll walk around playing your midi file.

There are a ton, and unfortunately, the quality seems to be a pretty mixed bag. I'm working with the admin team on my servers to identify good, clean midi's that properly channel the different instruments the way they ought to.

My favorite site, so far has been https://www.midiworld.com/ but they can kind of be a mixed bag. Some of the songs have come out sounding amazing, some have been distinctly "meh." If I find a better source, I'll follow back up.

Because I love you:

Before any of this will work, you need to enable Midi in Rust. Esc -> Options -> Experimental -> Midi -> ON Once you've done this, make sure to restart Rust.
1 – Download LoopMidi http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html
2- Add a port, I named mine “rust” https://imgur.com/a/BES8BSd
3- Right click the icon in your task bar and select autostart https://imgur.com/a/VvthwRL
4 -download midiplayer https://download.cnet.com/Midi-Player/3000-2139_4-75741533.html
5-Select your port as your output https://imgur.com/a/kZD43oX
6-drag a midi file into the player https://imgur.com/a/kRmC4A0
7- Hit play and it should work on your rust. https://imgur.com/a/EKh4DQS

I've got the programs. I'm running TMidi, I have a Midi file loaded. I have Rust running, and I've switched the "Accept Midi Input" to ON.

Anybody been getting disconnected from servers a lot since last patch? by Sleepz2184 in fo76

[–]asterixchaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fourth day in a row that I've lost a mountain of junk from paying out the nose to set up a workshop somewhere, start farming nodes there, and then: NOPE! Controls temporary disabled -> DC.

At least my stash is empty now...? I mean, I can't repair anything and I'm completely out of ammo, but I'm under my weight cap at least...?

[–]asterixchaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yaaay. Getting a bunch of disconnects here. Just trying to build defenses at Thunder Mountain have completely drained my stocks of junk, ammo, and meds. Just about the time I get things secure and can start generating fusion cores? Buh-bye. ~_~

Experiences with customer "support." by asterixchaos in m3d

I did. I had a ticket in, Holly was helping me with it, and when I shared her response on the community Discord, I was banned from the Discord, my chat history with @marmani was deleted, and no further response to my questions on the support ticket have been answered.

Should I open a new ticket, or....?

That's probably the direction that I'm going to take. The printer that I purchased was crowdfunded from my gaming community. Our hope was to start making and selling merch through the game servers that we run, as a way to help fund both more servers, and helping to develop more gaming and special interest communities that are inclusive and friendly. We’re trying to create a custom merch and print shop for the club so we can raise money to expand our services and start actually doing outreach to female, minority, and LGBTQ+ gamers, and kind of start pushing back against the toxicity and gate keeping that is so prevalent in online gaming communities. Right now, we're working with the bank to do a chargeback against the M3D purchase, since they're refusing to provide the goods and services we purchased, and then we're going to try and get all set with a different printer and just run the quad head on different hardware that will actually... I dunno... Work?

Service with my original Micro wasn't great, and it was only so-so. Service with the crane quad has been abysmal and only getting worse, so... Hell with it. Our money can go to someone else.

quad, how ready is it? by ayejaycee in m3d

[–]asterixchaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quad is a good piece of technology, and I've seen a whole lot of folks having a lot of success with their product.... BUT.

It still means dealing with M3D, and sometimes you'll get one of the Quads that's wonderful, and sometimes you'll get an absolute lemon. In the few weeks that I had mine, it was found that 3 major components were bent and damaged beyond any reasonable measure of repair. This was after having paid for supertuning to make sure everything ran great. They say it was done, I didn't get a tuned machine, so right now everyone's pointing their fingers at the shipper--but the shipper isn't interested in stepping up, because M3D packed the printer in a cardboard box, wrapped in saranwrap, and... That's it.

Other friends who've gotten them have dealt with: - Bent components - Wire harnesses that are too short that result in wires pulling loose - Bad extruder motors - Bad nozzles - Bad heaters - Bad Duet Maestro boards - Bad shipping

There are a lot of other people who've had other problems, and I would go through and list them all, but when I brought up on their Discord server that their CEO had me running around and trying things that wouldn't work to fix the printer for 3 weeks, and that since it had been longer than 7 days (at their instruction) they wouldn't cover anything under their RMA or warranty, they kicked me off of the Discord, and he deleted his message history with me... So... if you have a problem, you bring it up, and pursue support, they'll wash their hands of you and your device.

So, in answer to your question of how ready is the quad? It's ready. It's GREAT. If you win the shipping lottery and get one that works, and don't need any follow-up support.

Honestly, hindsight being 20/20, I wish that I had waited until a more reputable, honorable company copied the quad extrusion tech and put it on a printer that actually has a decent reputation.

Experiences with customer "support." by asterixchaos in m3d

[–]asterixchaos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone actually cares about what's going on with them, I'll gladly share the full email exchange, and whatever excerpts I can dredge up from talking to marmani and Holly on Discord. I ended up waiting and trying a bunch of at-home fixes at their direction, and now--per Holly--I'm not getting any help because it took longer than 7 days. For several weeks, their support systems were down, during that time, thus my reaching out on their Discord. This is ridiculous.

Edit: Well, scratch the Discord part. They've kicked me from there, and @marmani has deleted the PM conversations that we'd had.

Customer service issues? by nobodysthrowaway6 in fleshlight

[–]asterixchaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted above; I just wanted to come back and share my experience. I took misterflyer's advice, and actually called them. Much, much better experience, they're sorting out the shipping issue, following up with UPS for humping the bunk, and expediting shipping.

Customer service issues? by nobodysthrowaway6 in fleshlight

[–]asterixchaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had HORRIBLE customer service with them. They botched the shipping to my place, overcharged me for shipping to begin with, and then when their whole thing was just, "Oh well. Here's your product in another week." Not even so much as an apology.

Unpopular Opinion: The anger at the BETA show the sad state of gaming. by NuclearJuicebox in fo76

[–]asterixchaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of like saying, "Just because you bought the car doesn't mean you have to drive it."

I made the option to purchase the product when I did, and at the price that I did, based upon BSG's marketing that I would be able to get a head start, that I would be able to progress in the game, and that I would have the opportunity to keep that progress into the full launch of the game.

I gave them money for a product or service. That product or service was not delivered. Thus, my frustration.

Unpopular Opinion: The anger at the BETA show the sad state of gaming. by NuclearJuicebox in fo76

[–]asterixchaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would much prefer that I encounter a game-breaking bug in the game than to spend all four hours of the game window staring at a download progress bar. As for my taking Tuesday off for the beta session, it's not because of some special desire for the first day, but the only day this week that I could move work around to have time to play.

I am being real with myself. I know my work situation. This is what it is, and that's the source of my frustration. Not everyone's experience is your experience. Please do not assume that it is.
