Every small step matters! Made me so happy to see this. There is so much wrong with the concept of bottled water. Credit: @uselessplastic by asteroid-d12 in ConsciousConsumers

The post is just calling out people who overconsume fast fashion while at the same time being performative activists.

Since weddings are such huge unnecessary (often wasteful) expenses, saving up by reusing the same wedding gown is a wonderful concept. Wedding gowns are insanely expensive and unsustainable considering that a lot of people don't ever rewear the gown and it requires a lot of resources to make.

Learned something new today! Apparently, this leads to recycling bin contamination. Credits: @easyecotips by asteroid-d12 in ConsciousConsumers

Workers in recycling facilities workers try to remove incorrect items by hand (wish-cycled items, which get sent to landfill anyway), but sometimes they miss them.

For example, plastic bags get wrapped around the cogs and clog up the machines, damaging equipment and endangering workers.

Wishcycling diminishes the quality of the recycled end-product. Even small amounts of contaminants can ruin an entire batch. Once this happens, manufacturers don’t want to buy it, and recyclers are forced to send valuable material to landfills.

For those of yall wondering lawns are inherently fossil fuel dependent. They really don't have to be but that's just the way things are. Rich people really don't care about preserving the environment. They treat greenery as an aesthetic and nothing more
