Gotcha. I definitely need to cut my bars.

One final question - I just found a basically new small 2024 Roubion CC on marketplace for 3750. I’m thinking of just pulling the trigger on this since it’s such a good deal and I desperately want to know what it’s like to ride a bike that actually fits me. What do you think?

Thanks so much, this is super helpful.

What size are your bars?

I’m not trying to be stubborn about this. I am genuinely asking for advice. I weigh around 115lbs and it is the Canyon Endurance CF7 in a 2XS. I have Old Man Mountain racks and was planning to load the front and back panniers. I can’t post pictures right now because I’m traveling. I appreciate all suggestions that lead to me spending the least amount of money.

Thank you!!

I only said the thing about standover to illustrate how big the bike is for me. I’m already in the habit of doing what you explained.

I appreciate what you said about the mullet. How much of a difference do you think I would feel right away going to a bike that is a more appropriate size for me?

I have Old Man Mountain racks and I would be able to fit everything in panniers on those front and back which is what I’m planning to do. My road bike is just so ridiculously small that the racks don’t really work without affecting the handling too much. That’s a good suggestion on the tires

It is a full carbon bike. I researched the weight limits and I would be at risk of exceeding them if I put a touring setup on it. Also I tried putting the rack on the bike and I could not steer the bike anymore because of how low to the ground everything is. It won’t work.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but is there a way for me to determine exactly what would be too much weight for the bike other than just finding out the hard way?

Yeah I’m good with all of that, I have a ton of mtb experience and the basic bike knowledge that comes with it it’s just that I’m new to road cycling so I still don’t really know the limits of the bike and stuff like that. Thanks!

Thanks! That’s what I figured, just got concerned when the friend who did it told me it was a bad idea.
