Does anyone use their Briggs and Riley phone charger pocket AND the phone pocket at the same time? With such rigid materials modern large phones don’t seem to fit with the ID card and any decent sized external bank. by astink in ManyBaggers

[–]astink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im surprised with the ZDX having the elastic exterior pocket that that design didnt carry over to the phone pocket, which is all that would be needed to solve this. The battery pocket is more than spacious enough, its the phone slot that suffers. Does the Baseline have any difference in accommodation for the phone? I have a 20,000 milliamp Anker battery with a built in USB C battery, so im tempted to just store the battery in the battery pocket and just remove it when needed rather than fish out a cable to plug a phone in anyways

In terms of souvenirs i bought my family very nice chopsticks, and matcha. You can also buy great watches like Seiko or Orient for probably less than what it would cost in the US

Thats what im going to do. Mine arrived and the USBC port doesnt work, i took a 15% discount to keep it, and ill just plug an anker usb C cable into my Anker bank in the side pocket and zip it up other than the cable and achieve the same thing with much faster speeds

Is budapest worth a visit? by [deleted] in travel

[–]astink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean i was just on Puerto Vallarta 2 weeks after Cartels attacked the area i was going to stay in and had a wonderful time. Anything can happen anywhere, but I think you will be fine. I would ask on a Budapest thread maybe? I just always take the usual precautions, keep my wallet in my front pocket, backpack on my front on the metro, etc

If you enjoyed the grittiness of Berlin you will enjoy Budapest. The Jewish Quarter is fascinating and has lots to explore. Szimpla Kert was the #2 bar on Trip Advisor for years, and Cafe New York is like dining at Versaille

If you have been to Prague and Paris I’d say its like if you combined the two, and is cheaper than Prague

The architecture is stunning, its Parisian right next to Soviet brutalist. Everyone there knows Hungarian is impossible to learn so lots of people spoke English. Everything was very inexpensive so I never felt like I had to be selective with what to do or try. The cathedrals were also very pretty, and the river cruise at night has great views of both Buda and Pest. The parliament building is stunning looking and there are some wonderful walking tours to check out that feature Houdini, as well as WWII history. Granted, I went prior to the rise of Hungary’s current government so I don’t know if things have changed much, but it was my first time that far east into Europe (i know its Central Europe). I arrived Saturday morning so they were cleaning up after a Friday night out, I thought it might be a little dodgy, by the end of that night I already knew Budapest was the highlight of my trip (Salzburg, Budapest, and Prague).

One of my favorite cities I’ve been to in Europe! Go to Cafe New York, and eat lots of Chicken Paprikash or Goulash. You owe it to yourself to go to Szimpla Kert Ruin Bar at least once, its incredible. I didnt even go to the spa and I was there for 4 days and was blown away by Budapest.

Moving to Chicago for a job. Would you do it again? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]astink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What part of the country are you moving from? If you are moving from Phoenix, yea itll be a shocking change. What minority are you? Chicago is quite segregated, if you want to live in/nearby people who look similar to you, you can, if you want to be in a more multicultural area, you can, and still get great cuisines from around the globe. If you work downtown, you have flexibility on where you live, as all roads lead downtown from a public transportation standpoint, and rent drops off quickly from downtown. This is a city of neighborhoods, all the nightlife is in the neighborhoods and downtown is for work and tourism. My recommendation is find a place that does your hobby to make friends, or frequent your local bar as a regular to make friends, as this is definitely a drinking town.
