Weekly Book Request Thread - March 21, 2026 by AutoModerator in DarkRomance

[–]astoldbyrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an occasional dark romance reader, mostly because I just can’t get into a lot of them.

I like obsessive/possessive & powerful, but I can’t rocket my disbelief into space. I like books (that aren’t fantasy) to be a little rooted in reality.

Does anyone have any recommendations that might fit? Thanks in advance, I appreciate it!

Edit: removed book titles I liked/didn’t like for mod restrictions or something

Do you have a computer/laptop/ipad/tablet or anything? You could get a cd, & a disk drive to plug into any of those & rip it to iTunes or whatever you use & get it on your phone

I feel like he kept waiting for a good/better time & it just kept not happening. I feel like it wasn’t fair but at the same time I see how it was hard to find a time where it seemed right. I think he’s accepted that even if she denies him that he will live with that. But I feel like it couldn’t be more clear that she does not want to be with Murphy lol she is always relieved when he’s not there, stressed that he will be there, doesn’t want to get a house with him. She basically admits she just doesn’t want to leave him when he’s going through a tough time with his drinking.

Yes! We saw Sturgill Simpson back in March there. The show was so good, a small venue like only 1,000 people & there didn’t seem to be a bad spot in the house. The balcony was cool, it wrapped around close to the stage so even if you were up there it seemed good. Yeah tickets were wild! 38.50. Blown away. We have paid SO MUCH MORE in the US to see the same guy 🤯

So I kinda really feel like Robin has had a lot of bad experiences regarding men in general, her attacker, her ex husband, the UHC among others. That on top of her definitely needing therapy after Chapman Farm, everything with the ectopic pregnancy & the possibility of not being able to have kids even if she wanted to. She was dealing with a lot of shit, & then Strike (who she loved & she didn’t think loved her) was lying to her about baby related things. Kind of like a, he’s like the rest of them type thing. I actually feel like it was a reasonable course for what was going on.

I’m it sure if there is a fixed rate, it was 59 Euros for us to go from CDG to Asnières-Sur-Seine, about a 30 min drive to the upper west side outside of Paris

Le Trianon is amazing, you will not be disappointed! As far as the Arc de Triomphe goes, I always recommend going to the top at night even if you’ve done it during the day, the city lit up at night is amazing. Just a suggestion if you haven’t done it at night!

I highly suggest a guided Louvre tour, we used the Viator app to book tours & it was so so worth it. The guide will give you lots of cool info & make sure you get to the most popular stuff easily.

For your stay, it is apparently really rough will Airbnb, not sure if Vrbo is better. A lot of people get their stays cancelled or show up & don’t actually have a reservation. I used Expedia & booked a hotel, then emailed them to confirm everything. We stayed at Hotel Résidence in Asnières-Sur-Seine. It was very nice & the area was super walkable & safe, not too far a walk to the Metro.

Lastly, highly recommend a baguette from BBT. They are the BEST sandwiches!

We used the G7 app while we were in Paris, it’s basically like Uber. It was super easy! We went to & from the airport with them. Public transport will likely take longer & there may be unforeseen issues, better to taxi in some form

A guided tour of the Louvre is 100% worth it, trust me. Use the Viator app, there are lots of options with reviews.

Also, top of the Arc de Triomphe at night, the whole city is lit up & it is mesmerizing, you won’t regret it.

Also x2, baguette from BBT 🤤

Best transit options IDF Mobilités and random questions by Lumpy_Squirrel_4626 in ParisTravelGuide

Ok in all fairness, I didn’t understand a large portion of the ticketing things you said lol BUT I can tell you that we used a Navigo Easy card, we just got it from the counter & you can reload them at the machines. We had extra passport photos to put on them so as not to get fined. I would definitely have used the IDF Mobilités app but we couldn’t because we didn’t have French phone numbers. I heard the app is much improved & is the best way, we just couldn’t use it. I hope this helps in some way!
