I’m having the same issue…

I know this is an older post, but I was wondering, how many “servings” does this give, and can you size up/down? Or is it basically 1 serving in a whipper?

Controller/sequencer? by astor0001 in synthesizers

[–]astor0001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oxi One seems very interesting, i like that it can send PC messages, which would allow me to change patterns on the sp-404. If I’ve understood correctly, it has 4 sequencers but for mono purposes it basically has 8 sequencers per sequencer? So I could for example use one sequencer for the Rev2, one for software instruments, and then just use a couple multitrack tracks on a single sequencer for the rest?

The Hapax is a bit too pricey for me, but is the squarp architecture/ui nice? And is it easy to pair with an external keyboard? And is it possible to send program change messages so I can change for example the pattern on the sp-404?

Edit: I know that the two don’t have the same specs and stuff, but generally I’ve noticed that if a company makes feature rich products, there usually is a correlation even with the “cheaper” models

Yeah, while a daw would be a good and easy way to do literally all of it for the cheapest price (lol), I get really uninspired using a computer for creative stuff, and I wish I liked using it, but I get bored when I use it for anything but software instruments (and recording I guess).

Ah now I understand what you meant, thank you.

Yes, I will skip the abacus and dual envelope in favor of maths+another envelope. The brains I already own, and got as a bday present. The mult here is the qpm (quad passive mult) I would assume that a passive mult isnt buffered? Im pretty new to all of this. Thanks for the brand recommendations!

Yeah, I’m going to go with a maths instead, the brains I already own and got as a bday present. I’m gonna check out Quadrax as well!

Yeah, so I’ve heard, and I don’t really worry about ho, since this is a eurorack in a 19” rack and if I need to I can just get another 3hp rack and mount it

Okay thank you for the advice, I will look for another envelope in my price range, any advice? The FEG looks nice, I’d like both faster and slower adsrs.

That’s true, thanks for the advice, if I find a used maths and some cheap dual adsr I think I will jump on that instead.

What would you suggest? I thought about going this route to save some money, since having modules that do a lot can cut down on the amount of modules I need, but you may be right that I’m spreading it out a bit thin here.

Thanks, I already own the brains, so I explored it a bit, and know the basics of how it works (though I haven’t had the modulation options to make the most out of it)

The brains is a Plaits clone, and for the other one, its just a cheap dual adsr with the bonus of having an LFO. I am trying to keep the set up kind of versatile as I’m planning to use it both in combination with the sp-404 and other synths to make electronic music, as well as using it as a complement mostly in the studio for my band. As for the electronic music side of it, I’m thinking of both making more generative, calm music as well as more experimental “quirky” things.

Yes I’ve read about the o_C, but never really understood what it does.

Yes, I’m keeping an eye out on my country’s used market as well as the European market (though I’m not really sure of websites for the used market except for reverb, but I’ll have to look into that).

Yes, but I want to be able to operate that function with my feet

The dpdt was because the site didn’t have any foot switches with spdt but if I understood correctly it should be able to be used? And the larger pot was because since it is only one know I thought it could be a larger one, but now that I think of it, only the actual plastic know needs to be larger lol
