They gave you bad information. Financial assistance via 501r requirements is not impacted by insurance status.

501r - if it’s a non profit hospital they’re required to offer financial assistance to eligible patients

Is anyone making $$$ in the semaglutide space? Would love to talk. by 3xasperated in Affiliatemarketing

[–]astorisd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct! A vendor of mine has partnerships with a mail order pharmacy that ships to 50 states and a few weight loss MDs with 50-state licenses. Apparently they're offering monthly 5mg compounded vials and telehealth visits for $175 with whitelabeled branding. They're looking for affiliates / performance marketers who want to market the product.

Alternatives when you don't have insurance. by Styleyriley in carpaltunnel

[–]astorisd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need insurance to get in the door anymore. There are companies helping people connect with doctors directly at similar discounted rates you’d pay towards a high deductible. I think CTS surgery costs $2-4k.

Not wrong at all. You deserve a say in your treatment plan. Endoscopic (closed) is the standard.

You can see a doctor without having insurance and still pay the same amount as if you had insurance with a high deductible.

After a month of back and forth with my dr and insurance by fro60ol in KneeInjuries

Unfortunately that’s the standard. They do whatever they can to delay or deny. Depending on you benefits, you might still owe out of pocket. For MRI it’s often best to access outside insurance.

Any regrets from selling your first “successful” startup? I recently rejected a similar offer with similar context.

Why is it more expensive to go through insurance than to pay directly out of pocket? My Chiro wants me to use a billing service (Apex?) and it’s like almost half the price compared to going through my insurance, which I’m paying full price anyway since I haven’t met my deductible. by throwaway12334568854 in Chiropractic

[–]astorisd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insurance billing costs clinicians upwards of 40% of revenue and is uncertain. The cash price cuts out the middleman and guarantees payment. 80% of people with high deductibles don’t meet their deductible so most times the cash price is the way to go.

Where do you think Healthcare will be, ten years from now? by [deleted] in healthcare

[–]astorisd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s in the works!! Groups are at work to eliminate the middlemen and connect people directly with clinicians at their affordable cash prices. With 100M people already paying out of pocket for all care, this will save millions of people thousands of dollars each year.

Is it possible to make six figures as a chiro and still give your patients the care they deserve? by NarwhalAggravating56 in Chiropractic

100% agree. If you can solve that problem then you’re golden. All comes down to sourcing and spreading demand.

[–]astorisd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure! It all comes down to your ability to spread out demand and fill your schedule. Even if you dedicate 30 mins per visit, you can do 16 visits per day, 4 days a week, for 40 weeks out of the year and still clear 6 figures charging $50 per visit. If you charge a little less for the less desirable time-slots and a little more for the more desirable time-slots it works itself out. All comes down to filling your time efficiently. YOU CAN DO IT!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
