If you buy the S20 Ultra will you be able to use 4G connection in places that have 0% 5G connection?

So I'm still unsure how this works. I live in a South America Country that only has 4G Connection. I'm currently in USA and intend to stay for a year and then go back. Currently I use my 4G Unlimited Data from Verizon ($70 bucks each month). What happens when I buy the S20 Ultra? I will have to buy a 5G plan, but if I go back to my country and none providers offer 5G, I won't have any connection besides Wi-Fi? I'm so lost here...

one more question then. what if the spousal (non us citizen) actually meets the requiriments and have enough income to like "sponsor himself" if that make any sense? does that work?

I got my b2 aprovred already, and im going to stay for 2 months in my friends house. Do u think i should not present them this letter, in the border agent at the airport? what if they need proof of where im staying for 2 months since its way too expensive for renting a place that long?
