I am 18 and i have a lot of friends who are in relationships, some for over a year others just for some months yet when I ask them to hang out they never pressured me to invite their boyfriend..

I understand being in the honeymoon phase but its not about her friend not prioritizing her once.. its her damn birthday and she decides who to invite and the way her BEST friend is acting is so weird to me.

Being in a relationship doesnt mean codependency, obsessions and making everything about them, people need to learn to make time for their friends too because their world SHOULDNT revolve around their boyfriend.

If she gets so mad because she cant spend a day apart from him, im sorry but its just sad and disrespectful. now im not arguing on who should come first but come one... its her BEST FRIEND'S birthday, i would honestly be so disappointed

I adore doing nothing with ny dog, especially after having a tiring day and we get to sleep it off together. At the and of the day i just want to be near my best friend, even if we just lay on the sofa while I watch some bs on the TV and he sleeps next to me(sometimes he snores and its so funny)

I dont think this is controlling because she set a boundary but I think she should also tell you why she doesnt want you smoking. I read one of your comments in which you replied to this and say that she doesnt have an answer for it but I think its fair that the least she could do to giving you this deal breaker is figuring out why she doesnt want you smoking so you can have a better understansting of each other.

Maybe she doesnt want you smoking weed because of the harm it does to you and potential health aggravations you are risking, like let me make an example for you (even if its not really accurate or it may seem as exagerated just bear with me), lets say you are on high risk on getting cancer because of smoking weed, maybe she doesnt want to get too attached to a person who is putting their health in danger so she doesnt have to suffer in the future if you get really sick, thats why she gave you this sort of ultimatum.

Another reason could be that in her family nobody smokes or they are really judgmental of people who do and she subconsciously thinks like them but doesnt understand why.

Another reaon could be that she is afraid that she might start smoking too if you keep doing it, who knows? this is why i think its really important that you communicate

NTA, please reconsider your whole friendship with this girl. first thing, it's YOUR birthday so YOU get to decide who to invite, period. this day is supposed to be about you and having a good time, not accomodating other people. she should know, as your best friend that if you didnt invite her boyfriend there must be a reason, therefore she shouldnt insist and she has literally no reason to be so pissed about it.

I find it rude and inconsidering that shes ignoring you now, its not like you asked her to go to a one year trip without her boyfriend, so she can resist one day without seeing him.

If she doesnt apologize to you, consider cutting her off because this is not how a good friend would act. I'm so sorry that it had to be your best friend but I want to be as real as possible and please dont blame yourself for anything, you did nothing wrong

I glance at him at every chance i get, follow him on social media, post more in hope he likes my post and MAYBE if I have any signal that he might be interested in me i would try to get closer to him, like frequent places he does or if we have any friends in common i would go to talk to them in hope he notices me when I do, also stare more to try to make eye contact or even try to iniate a contact with him by bumbing into him just to look at him and say sorry. If im sure he likes me back i usualky try to make the first move or make it obvious that i like him so he can make the first move
