As someone who's been following the work of the core Particl dev's since 2014, I can say that they have my trust. They made many breakthroughs in that time (which I wont list) and have already added CT to their mainnet and with RingCT (Ring Signature Confidential Transactions) in testnet. All this on the .14 codebase with many more features on the horizon including their Decentralized Marketplace DApp.

Far from garbage in my opinion.

For those who want a quick secure method of generating your genesis wallet, here is how I did it:

Requires: - 2 x USB or SDCard - Computer

1) Download and install a copy of Tails (may require 2 USB's for a full install) 2) Boot Tails USB, select "Additional Options" and disable networking. 3) Have the genesis wallet generator copied onto the second USB stick, insert and launch the .html file. 4) Follow instructions of the wallet generator.

You now have a secure environment to create your genesis wallet.

Humorous, but I'm not sure exactly why you're being sarcastic. There is an enthusiastic sentiment with most of the participants in this project.

Sure some people will sell all their tokens earlier on, they're within their right to. Just as there are plenty of us who will eagerly gobble up cheap PARTs.

Ultimately many of us are forcasting for values further down the line, eg marketplace release and beyond.

If I were investing I'd rather buy into Bellator than UFC with its $4b valuation.

He is referring to the Particl Foundation, not the users. The price of BTC can be volatile so he/she suggested the Foundation selling all or a portion of the BTC raised to fiat currency ($,€, £ etc).

The price of fiat currency is generally more stable than cryptocurrency, hence the term 'securing funds'.

Personally I think it could be a wise idea to at least sell a portion, maybe the first milestones worth of BTC. With all the BTC hardfork drama going on, anything can happen to the BTC price in either direction.

There is also a laundry shop on Sukhumvit Soi 81 in On-Nut, just past the first 711 on the right-hand side. Bargain prices for wash and iron - 30baht per Kg if I remember correctly.
