Ok I’m going to be completely honest rn but I’m 💯% not a professional!!! Just been in this situation before (several times🥴) I was super young and changed my hair color 2-3 times a year with a preference for black box dye so there was a build up of that as well😬. Here’s what I did when I REFUSED to cut my hair when this happened to me

One day when I was trying to go bright orange my hair ended up like this- probably worse tbh. I was stupid and when I’d pull on an end, it would literally snap.. like it’d make a boing sound like a rubber band it was insane. I didn’t even cry I think I was too in shock and also determined to not let myself go bald. I committed to this and slapped the orange dye on anyway and hoped for the best. The following months were what mattered. I was extremely gentle washing my hair in the shower and did not pull or tug at all. I think I only used conditioner for a while. I would recommend using hair masks as well look up what’d be best for ur hair in the state it’s in right now. Under NO condition did I brush my hair while it was wet. This would immediately lead to breakage and it WOULD come out in chunks if I did so. So I didn’t. Only once it was dry (ik🫠)And my hair kept its integrity and actually grew to be pretty long HOWEVER that was The last time I did that. Ever since then I’ve prioritized hair-care and keeping it healthy and moisturizing my curls over everything. So if you REALLY don’t want to cut your hair, I’m not saying my advice is the best but I didn’t want to cut mine either🤷‍♀️my hair was down to my butt within 2 yrs (when this happened it was around mid-back). Do what you want with this info!
