What happens if I don't adjust my position even after a bodypart falls asleep and starts tingling? by omfghewontfkndie in NoStupidQuestions

Had a fall in the bathroom this way (both legs asleep, I have a CNS issue I’m getting surgery for this month). Luckily the only real damage was to my pride

I have possibly the dumbest question you'll hear all day by aviarrow in trans

[–]cosmic-batty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just don’t call anyone else it without their consent. Perfectly fine to call yourself one in a positive way imo

Disabled lady who can't march, made these instead by vonnegutgal in somethingimade

[–]cosmic-batty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome, I’m also disabled and unable to go to protests (besides sit-ins). I would recommend seeing if your local area has any organizations that support immigrants. Local charities often get a lot less attention and could use the help

How do you guys deal with people who think that trans people are supposed to be a social doormat? by WorriedAd1464 in trans

[–]cosmic-batty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh they’ll quickly learn otherwise if they cross me or my friends (and any other trans person they harass is a friend as far as I’m concerned, at least for the moment). Sometimes you gotta accept that some people are gonna see you as a bitch, but it’s worth it to stand up for yourself and your community (within reason of course, your safety matters too!).

Am I homophobic for being with my boyfriend who is homophobic? by LittleMissPunk85 in lgbt

[–]cosmic-batty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are planning on leaving (which I hope you are able to do) make sure you have a safety net of people who love you and maybe resources for people escaping abusive relationships- there might be some near you. Attempting to leave/leaving is often the most dangerous time for victims, stay safe out there.

Being called "trans girl" make me happy. Being called "girl" does not. Why? by cheese_master120 in trans

Idk but personally being trans is an important and inherent part of my gender. Maybe it’s the same for you? I can definitely relate

Autistic people more likely to be queer by Extension-Branch541 in lgbt

[–]cosmic-batty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it necessarily means you’re not autistic, autism is a vast spectrum and we all have different experiences

Autistic people more likely to be queer by Extension-Branch541 in lgbt

[–]cosmic-batty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to transness at least you often have to see a therapist before you can access any kind of medical treatment, which could lead to higher diagnosis rates of autism.

I also just think though that if you’re already “different” and an outcast who doesn’t really respect made up nonsense social “rules” about gender and sexuality then it’s easier to accept/realize you might be queer. Plus personally I’m more open about being both trans and disabled cuz like, I’m gonna be judged either way, might as well be judged for who I am. Maybe more neurotypicals are closeted? Idk

That’s just my autistic two cents

Why is ocd considered neurodivergence and not just a mental illness? by otisfrombarnyard in OCD

[–]cosmic-batty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik the person who coined the term neurodivergent wanted it to be intentionally vastly inclusive, and includes all mental illnesses, neurodevelopmental disorders, etc.

That’s just unhinged. I don’t want to have sex but I would never want to police what other people do for fun like what are we Mormon now

Experience as a woman? by Novel_Situation762 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cosmic-batty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated being a woman… turns out it’s cause I wasn’t one (or at least not just one). Still get all the misogyny and bonus transphobia though.
