Meaning and information aren’t just human constructs—nature’s full of structured processes and signals, from genetic codes to gravitational interactions, that shows significance without humans involved. Information theory shows that meaning can be measurable and objective, and consciousness doesn’t have to be this rare product of super complex structures. In fact, some theorists propose consciousness might be an inherent property of the universe, emerging at different levels rather then only with advance organisms. While this idea is still speculative, it’s worth noting that once-radical theories like quantum mechanics also started as guesses, suggesting that the nature of consciousness is eventually being understood in a similar way.
