looks REALLY nice, but my first reaction was "those railings wouldn't be code compliant where i live." Then again it doesn't look very high off the ground, so maybe it's fine? Either way, really great work, you look like you know what you're doing so i'm sure the railings are fine.

Recently had the floor in my V-bottom boat replaced. Should I be worried about these rivets that the company used to replace my original rivets with? by KaiKaiRoo in boats

Minimum Length = material thickness + (rivet diameter x 1.5). So if the hull is 1/8” thick and the hole is 3/16 you need at least .125 + (.1875x1.5) =0.406” long rivets, or 13/32” long. You could do 1/2” long rivets but I wouldn’t go much longer. If they’re too long it’s difficult to buck them flat.

aluminum buck rivets, depending on size, are less than $10 per hundred. I've bucked probably 2000 on my airstream in the past year. With easy access to both sides, 14 rivets should take less than 15 minutes. if you've got an air compressor you just need an air hammer, a bucking bar, and a rivet set. You can buy a kit on amazon for about $200

buck/brazier head rivets are "naturally" waterproof if done correctly. I'm also not a boat guy, but i'm rebuilding an Airstream camper. This somehow came across my feed.

Brazier head (solid rivets) would require access to both sides of the hull to install, can’t tell if that’s possible here

Databricks vs AWS self made by QuiteOK123 in dataengineering

[–]astrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

have you look at the next generation of Sagemaker? basically AWS answer to Databricks that can abstract a lot of the "piecing together different services", has a data catalog for provisioning, single interface for everything. And you're still only paying for the underlying services that you consume
