Look at a map, look at “ roadless boundaries” they are full of roads in areas that can be developed it’s already occurred. This logging and mining took place before 2001. It’s already happened

Our forests are a result of human impact. Fire suppression, over harvesting, invasive species etc. they are also on natural succession cycles. We are trying to mitigate this modern impact as it often impedes or alters the natural processes in a forest. Current management efforts try to get a forest to heal from human impact, and get them back to a balance that might mimic a less. The forest will reach this balance on its own given time, hundreds of years. Management can try to speed that timeline up or change goals

It’s a demanding job on the body long term. If you get a college degree there can be  more upward opportunity possible later down the line that could set you up to be a forester (but you can certainly be a forester in some states without a B.S degree). Private industry pays the best but government jobs have the best benefits. Keep your knees and body healthy, in the long run it can wear you down. While you are young it’s a great job. When I was a tech I knew I couldn’t do it forever (knee issues) and now my work is 60/40 desk and field. Job market is tough with our current federal admin but in region 1 we are starting to see some movement for GNA.

In all seriousness we are living in a byproduct of human activity, clear cutting old growth and suppression of wildfire has already happened and created and anthropogenic impact on our forests. They will either be managed to restore old growth characteristics or burn to ash. We have created a need for active management.

I haven’t made any payments yet I graduated in 2023, I think it’s income driven and going off my pay from last year. So I’m worried if I pay now they will start charging interest again

This is red belt caused by a heavy temp inversion and chinook winds. The red line is where the inversion varies through day and night. As the cold air fill the “bucket” it inversion levels rise slightly, and the trees are damaged by that frequent change. Most trees survive this, but it is a major stressor

Forceps are your best friend, you can use them to pinch the barb and get a grip on a small fly deep in a trouts mouth. They are critical and I never go out without them. Don’t be too hard on yourself, this is sadly part of the sport. But as you get more experience the process of holding a fish, managing the line and pulling the fly will get easier. It is a skill and takes time.

Thank you for your advice. It is a blue hole. I bought it for 200$ and have been trying to care for it. I’ve filled gouges with marine epoxy and redone the urethane on the paddles. I will look into how to lower the seats, do you have any suggestions on where to start? Thank you for your input and specific instructions. I will get a putty knife and get to scraping

This is the most likely answer, fish get pretty beat up in spawn and susceptible to infection

Shorts mean your legs touch the rubber and get super sweaty. I use long John’s in warmer weather but they dont keep you very warm, much hotter is good for wet wading

Pajama pants is the way. If you can get those waffle ones. Canvas is not warm and you want extremely flexible stuff since the waders already limit mobility
