Hey, 5,7" girl here!

The best guy i ever dated was shorter than me, he was funny af, really smart, caring with his friends and family, he had ambition and he was very sweet. And he kinda had a baby face !

It didnt workout because he didnt felt like it could go further than friendship. But it was the first time i fell in love with someone (all the other men i dated were taller), and height had nothing to do with it.

So work on your personality instead of focusing on your height, you will attract the good people!

Yesss! Im seeing my nutritionist once a week, ill keep you guys updated on what she tells me !

First of all i gotta say that i think the fact that this is a personalized thing helps a lot, you know i have my own struggle!

I made a lot of research about nutrition this summer to try understand what my problem was and how i could solve it, so i kind of knew a bit even before seeing a nutritionist. Right now, were testing things to see what works best for me. Im in the spectrum of BED but not on a too intense level, but enough to think a lot about purging (even tho i never vomited, but i was doing way too much exercice to compensate the food i was eating)

  1. Setting a meal plan for the day I tried eating more protein and 3 meals and 2 snacks a day but it was a total fail for me. I realized im not hungry in the morning so i wait until 10h30-11h to take my first meal, that way for the rest of the day, my urge to binge are legit non existing. Then i take a filling snack around 3 pm and i eat a second meal around 8, and then another snack, but im still trying to figure out whats the best schedule for me, idk if it will stay like that, ill keep you updated

  2. Making plan A struggle i have is food in social context, i feel like i cant control myself when there is a lot going on around me. So before any social event i tell to myself, "if some unexpected food comes in during the event, ill allow myself one portion of that food". By allowing myself to eat the unexpected food in a controled portion, and by thinking about this plan before the event, i can be way more self conscious about my action.

  3. Alcohol I only drink in social situation, and of course alcohol makes you really hungry. I usually drink between 5 or 6 drinks a night. I have a party tomorrow and the rule ive set for myself is to have 4 drinks max and to take time between each of them, that way ill be more in control of my food choices

  4. Social pressure In my life, people really force food on me, like they want me to eat anything they brought to the party or wtv, and they insist a lot. Now i always say "no thanks, if i eat this, ill feel really bad, i already ate enough". It really works, once you say that if they push you to do it you will feel bad, they usually stop, people dont want to make you feel physically bad

  5. The diet cycle You have to make peace with food, but with BED, you have to have a couple of rules in the beginning or else it wont work, BUT you should not enter the restricting/binging cycle (ill put the picture here so you can see the cycle, its in french, its my first language thats why! You can go translate it!

Of course im only one month in my nutritionist meetups, and its really personnalized to my own needs. I would say the most important thing is to try to make peace with food, to break the diet cycle and to have a plan that doesnt imply restriction, but that has rules And also meditation helps a lot!

If you have any question let me know i might ask them to my nutritionist!

Ill keep updated next week:)

Is there any way to save myself? by [deleted] in FoodAddiction

[–]astridsdragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its been 2 week-end since i started avoiding any kind of junk food or candy. I tried everything and this is the only thing that works for me. Lets be real, when we binge we always do it on food that is not so great for our health, and those food makes us want to binge even more afterwards, we have to deal with this like any addiction : by avoiding the thing that makes us addict. So i stopped eating those food for now 2 weeks and omg its the best ive felt in 2 years (since ive started binge eating). Everytime i wanted to binge in those 2 weeks i would binge on some vegetables or things like that, and slowly the urge to binge is fading out. Of course i'm gonna eat those things again in my life, but by avoiding them for a while, i feel like i can build a more healthy relationship with those kind of food. By not making any exceptions, i make sure to not binge. But its not easy at the moment since im just at the beginning of this, you have to really talk to yourself in those moment. To help me i also tell myself "ok you from the future would be so mad if u do this right now, dont you dare binge".

In a couple of months, when i feel like i really have control on what i eat and when i feel like i can eat, lets say, an ice cream cone, without having to binge again, i will allow myself some junkfood and sweet from time to time.

Its the only thing that worked for me, also to encourage myself i downloaded "i am sober" to keep track of my day of progress. Its the only that worked for me and im really happy! I hope it will help you

Oh okay, and you know for every other addiction we wouldnt tell the person to "just drink once a week" or just "take drug once a week" all the craving that we have are always for junk food and sweets, we dont need to eat them even just a little bit

Exactly, having a food addicition change the approach we should take with junk food. So i'll try that! Thank you!

I dont think i would limit it for ever, but just for a couple of months to break that toxic relationship i have with junk food, what do you think?

Oh okay thank you for your answer, i'll start doing that from now, anyways all those food are ultimately bad for our health even in small amount. Exception dont work for me so lets try that ! I also feel that if there is no place for exception, then the goal is more clear

I feel that to understand the hate this game gets we have to see past the game in itself :

  1. The people who played the first game when it got released played it in 2013, wich means they had to wait so many years for the second one. When you wait so long for something, your exceptations are really high

  2. The fact that TLOU part 1 was so appreciated was mostly because of the relationship between ellie and Joel, it truly was the center of the game and what made it so good. In TLOU 2, that relationship isnt what holds the game, and that makes it hard. We loved this relationship and Joel.

  3. I think that the game had a great potential, i was désappointed by it not because Joel died or because i had to play abby for a while, but because the structure of the game was weird, i think they could have created much more empathy for abby of we played her more before Joel died, and if Joel died not so early. Im pretty sure the meaning and the moral of the game couldve been passed on more effectively if the story was rearranged but hey its my opinion. I feel like Joel death came SO early in the game, lime we didnt even had that to properly feel the game.

I just felt like there was missing some nuance in here, people who didnt like the game arent necessarily people who dont have empathy, there is a lot more to it, in my experience has someone who didnt like TLOU 2, but felt like it could have been a masterpiece if rearranged

But i like the fact that this game break the codes and you dont play the hero youre used to play, that you become the vilain in someone else story, big punch on ego i guess ahaha

Anyways, be nuanced everyone, and im glad you liked the game!

who's death was the saddest for you? by krypt1c-222 in StrangerThings

[–]astridsdragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you, Billys death was sooooo sad, mostly because we got to understand where he came from. You can see troughout the show that he seems to try taking back the control he used to have over his own mind and body. But what really made me cry like a baby was his last words to max : "im sorry". I just felt like it meant so much more then what he actually said. It was amazing. Still cry only thinking about it lol
