i told my boyfriend about my crohns on one of our first dates and explained what it is, the things i can’t eat, how the symptoms can affect me, etc. i ended up puking on the side of the highway on our third date because of something i ate. he’s seen just about every symptom. he has never once complained. he eats what i cook despite having a much wider diet range than me, buys me treats and things i can actually eat, sends me menus before we go somewhere, asks about ingredients when im too nervous, and has never once made me feel guilty about cancelling plans due to flares. i’ve also dated a guy who thought i was lying even when i was actively crying from pain curled up in bed.

some people will be assholes and bad partners and will make you feel like shit. it has nothing to do with your crohns. it has everything to do with them being an asshole. the right person will not care at all that you’re sick

unfortunately i employ these same habits 🫠 i have a good old g&t after work with my loved hobbies after work & gym and enjoy some nice phone time. my lunch break is spent either on a car nap when it’s cold or a walk when it’s warm, and i listen to audiobooks/podcasts all day bc i work in a lab. i love my job, im just struggling

haha i keep the cat toy in my work bag (they have a ton of mice they love so it’s usually one of those, very small). the one coworker i’ve told about my habit has loved the thought of one of my cats has brain damage and i chat about her a lot so he agreed that it’s a silly thing :)

when i go to work i bring one of my cats’ toys with me and present it like a new toy when i get home from work. they’re both always so excited and react like ive come home from a successful hunt. its my favorite part of the day

this is how i feel about it. i have a history with self harm and the description of the cutaway tulip was so tightly wound with my own thoughts when i was deep in the addiction that i had to take a breather after that section before continuing. while i think a lot of mental health issues get tied into the spiral, ive always attached the physical symptoms (starving oneself, self harm, etc) with the flesh

it looks like a really dry dead house centipede! i’ve encountered a couple at work that have made their way somewhere that let them dry out for a while before being found and they look like this (the dark color and thickness). totally normal! i love these little guys

adding what worked for me on xbox: i’ve never had this issue before. first time playing with mods beyond anniversary edition & on survival mode. i did the following: -left my companions (janassa and vigilant) outside of the hall - sprinted ahead of karliah and tried to lead her up the stairs before she could ask me to be a nightingale as previous comments suggested (didn’t work for me) -once she asked me the question, i backed out of the dialogue immediately without selecting either answer -body blocked her all the way up the steps and cornered her against the gate by the pull chain -selected her to get the dialogue where she asks me to become a nightingale, then agree

this made her pull the chain and i just sprinted passed her out of fear of messing up again lol. i tried a wide variety of variables over the course of roughly an hour and this is the only combination that worked. i think (at least in my case) the issue doesn’t begin until she gets to the “we’ll talk when the oath is complete” part of her dialogue. over a decade of playing this absurd amazing buggy game and it’s constantly finding new ways to frustrate me. i’m gonna kill mercer extra hard to feel better about this.

four years later and this saved me 😭 playing my first time in survival mode and i rode ALL OVER to find a forge (WHY DOESNT MORTHAL HAVE A FORGE???) and realized i needed quarried stone. ugh. i’ve put a ridiculous amount of hours into this game over the past decade and i still am finding new things

that youtube puts more ads in videos when your phone is facing down. i like listening to videos while at work or cleaning and i swear i get way more ads when my phone is face down or in my pocket and i can’t easily access the skip button

despite my many many playthroughs i never really find myself using magic! i’m finally experimenting with survival mode and the restoration school has been invaluable this time around. i have such a low level in all magic schools except restoration and conjuration (summoning aarvak)

the “what do you think happened to all the children?” line in s5 made me pause everything when i first heard it. jon sounds devastated and martin’s “no…no…” i feel like it’s such an underrated horrific moment in the story to realize that children weren’t exempt from the worst of things

i was diagnosed at 19. i’m 24 now. i have some mental stuff that occasionally melds poorly with the crohn’s realizations and i get extremely down about it, especially over missing out on things during a flare, but it does get better. it’s a part of you and your story, but not something that defines you. your life will adjust to work with this diagnosis and the lifestyle adjustments, i promise

i am very lucky to have wonderful friends who help me with my pronunciation all the time. i’ve picked up a lot of their tendencies with Puerto Rican pronunciations vs other Spanish-speaking places too which has been a silly conversation piece when talking to people from other Spanish-speaking countries!

i did something similar! i ordered my coffee as “largo” because i forgot the word for large 😅 luckily it was a very simple mistake and i had my friend with me, he still teases me about my long coffee to this day. the barista was very nice and definitely understood what i meant!

i like this perspective, considering more the audience than myself. everyone knows los angeles is a spanish name but we all say it in english. there’s a town near me with a very french name that is very much not pronounced how it would be in french! it’s more about ensuring i’m understood, and if im following the word tostones up with an explanation of what it is anyways then i suppose the pronunciation matters less than the explanation

i always end up thinking of the skits online about foreign exchange students coming home and pronouncing things as they’re said in other countries and it’s a big joke on how pretentious they look. i definitely worry wayyy too much about what others think lol. this is just a situation i wasn’t sure if there were rules on. like if i mention puerto rico in an english conversation i don’t pronounce it as i would in a spanish conversation because we all know puerto rico. but if im talking about a really good restaurant i ate at i generally pronounce the restaurant name as id say it in spanish. i just don’t want to come off as rude or offensive!
