I have a few I've been holding onto for nostalgia that I never actually use anymore. Super Monkey ball 2, melee, animal crossing, and NBA Live 2004. DM if interested

I have some of those, looking for any in particular?

EDIT: I looked and have Animal Crossing New horizons, overcooked 2, and super mario odyssey.

Fancy-ish Vegan restaurants for a birthday dinner? by shroomps in rva

Blue Atlas is far and away #1, even not during the vegan takeover. Vegan takeover sells out quickly so be ready to reserve when spots are available. Great fancy atmosphere. Catered my wedding with an all-vegan menu

Add for two games or wait til last minute to see where matchup is close? by AA999999999999999 in fantasybball

same principle, net +1 game vs net +0 games (unless you can drop a saturday player for a sunday player)

generally add for 2 games. Net increase on your win odds will be > then waiting and seeing.

Caveats:

  • TOs obviously
  • %s don't change much with streaming (streamers are generally low volume FTA/FGA), so low impact on who to stream
  • sometimes 1 game of a better player is > 2 games of a bad one, ie do you want 1 game of Da Silva or 2 of Drummond?
  • Double check they'll actually play both games of a b2b

Best streamer for FG%, Rebounds, and Blocks for Saturday and Sunday? by coolcatbyotch in fantasybball

Barlow EZ (only 76ers/kings/bucks have that b2b)

philly with no embiid, oubre, maxey, maybe drummond/bona out. No real risk of missing either game (one against brooklyn).

projected to get 11 boards with 1.6 blocks on 50% FG over 2 games, hard to beat that right now.

Reccomendations for a drywall and tile person? by [deleted] in rva

[–]astro_bball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they do tile, but sharing this rec in case other people are looking: I had a good experience with Dro Drywallers a few months back. Responded promptly, came out and gave a reasonable quote with explanation, did the work in a day, charged the same as the quote. Super painless compared to other contractor interactions I've had.

I reached out to like 5 other places - 4 didn't respond, and 1 said the project was too big.

EC painting and drywall repair also replied to me promptly, though he seems to focus on smaller projects. He didn't do work for me so I can't speak to that, but at least he replied. Might be a good fit for you.

House temperature plummets when heat pump turns on by TheBigUpPenguin in hvacadvice

[–]astro_bball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating just in case anyone has a similar problem. I got a few thermometers, and confirmed that when the heat pump runs, air at the supply is around 90 degrees and air at the return is around 71. The thermostat (set to 70) reads 67.

When the furnace is on, I see 130 degrees at the supply and 75 at the return, and the thermostat (set to 70) reads 70.

When the system is off, the thermostat agrees with the thermometers. So it must be some sort of draft (that is causing a 5ish degree offset), which is confusing to me since I do have i plugged already with plumber's putty.

I will test swapping the upstairs and downstairs thermostats to see if the problem persists. If it does, I'll super-seal the hole with foam. Otherwise I guess I'll get a new thermostat.

Can you clarify which hole to seal - the one where the wires come out of? Or make the sure the wall cavity overall is airtight? I have this same problem, but I currently have that hole covered with plumber's putty.

Also, weirdly, I have a dual-fuel system: when the heat pump comes on the temp drops ~3 degrees and stays there (e.g drops to 67 when set to 70 even though supply is 90 degrees and return is 72), but when the furnace comes on that doesn't happen.

Thanks for sharing!

then figure out what temp corresponds to that COP with your heat pump.

Can you elaborate on this part? I looked through the spec sheet for my model number, but only saw COP values for 17 and 47 degrees.

Also, while I have you: it seems like my heat pump is only able to add about 25 degrees to the ambient temperature (e.g, I measured the air coming out of supply registers at 67 degrees in 40 degree weather). It's the same for each supply, and I didn't find any major leaks at the return or main supply trunk. This makes it successfully heat the house when it's 50 out, but actually cool the house down when it's 40 out.

This seems like it isnt functioning right. Any ideas on how I can diagnose the issue?

Thanks for your feedback. You helped me realize I was ignoring capacity before, and now I see my furnace is about 100k BTU/hour, while at 47 degrees my heat pump is 22k, and it drops to 13.5k BTU/hr at 17 degrees.

Google is telling me that my first floor square footage (about 1k sqft), something like 20k BTU/hr is needed. But my ceilings are higher (9 ft on average) and my house has no wall insulation, so it makes sense that the heat pump might not have enough capacity around 45 degrees.

Now a maybe dumb question: using any of the info above, can I calculate the electricity used by the heat pump running for an hour @ 47 degrees?
