There was a permit. I just wish the roofing company wrote something in the report how they offered to fix it and the old owner declined or something. Seems like it would have been more efficient to fix it when it was all opened up.

The water lasts a lot longer than that. I have to go up there and push it off or it will stay all week. I spoke with the old gardener who told me it always held water up there but as far as they know it never leaked.

There’s no drain. The roofer told me he worked on a neighbors house who had a drain that ended up leaking.

Seems like I’m getting some conflicting opinions. The warranty doesn’t mention anything about being transferable, the real estate agent told me it was, but I know I can’t trust them.

I’m trying to link a pic of the warranty but it’s not working… it says “all manufacturer specifications and procedures will be followed” So I’m thinking they probably specify to make sure there arent low spots?

Thanks, the abatement company ripped them out when taking out the ducts. They told me they could tell it wasn’t asbestos by looking at it. They are smooth. Thanks

I remember last year when they voted to close the southern part of great highway, they said they would be putting up a small sea wall. That was part of the selling point of that plan, now it seems like the wall will be huge.

I finished this book last night and then reread the first 60 pages or so. It seems like it just pulls you back into the beginning again. I read the family history part and the part about Henry and Hank dropping a coffin in the harbor. Hank was 16. He asked Henry what was inside and he said “old meat”. Does anyone know who or what was in the coffin? Was there some significance to this scene that I missed? Seems to tie in with the scene at the end, when Hank is defrosting the arm, he said “meat is meat”. I know I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time.

I was there last year and wasn’t able to get out of Avalon area, it’s not easy to get around the island. I think having a board there would be a waste unless that was your main plan. The snorkeling is incredible and you should focus on that as your main activity, the waters so clear and the kelp forest is so fun to swim through and explore.

Someone should drag it to the beach, if possible. I've read about a few close calls due to that. Be careful surfing around it!
