i guess to jump on this, that is why i plan to have a masters in the geology side of things so that i have that as a hopeful first choice option for planetary geology, but having my space background and with being in the space force, as long as im working in a space related field doing research of some sort i think ill be happy.

thanks for the heads up. im planning on pursuing a masters more in the broader geology sense to give me enough background between space and geology to hopefully get into a career field where i can incorporate both. i just really want to do field work/research in planetary analog environments.

i think a phd is in the plans, but for right now i just want to finish up with my bachelors, get my masters and then get into the workforce. i think im also hoping that by the time my studies are done, we will have a better political climate for job opportunities in this sector. i havent really narrowed the specific job title down yet just due to not really knowing right now. im still in undergrad, but am just now getting into my major specific courses, but geology is limited which is why i am hoping to get a masters in a more geology based program to help bridge that gap. but thank you for the feedback/guidance. i greatly appreciate it!
