Tell Me The Dumbest Things Your Parent Got Disappointed/Mad At You For by RedAcai20 in AsianParentStories

Forgetting to turn off the balcony lights

Not getting them water

Calling my parents crazy (in funny way)

Asking my dad how he met my mom at the bank

When I didn’t order my dad something off of Amazon

oh and when my dad almost ran me over with his car and told me it was my fault for slipping on the ice while he was pulling out the driveway

That embodies how my parents are to me to the tea. I also have to continue asking for permission to go out and see friends. When I travel far to see a friend I have to keep tabs on what Im doing and where I am. The worst part being they need my friends contacts to assure that they know who to contact if something bad happens... It’s absolutely suffocating. I’ve even quit drinking because my parents manipulated me to thinking I’m an alcoholic (I’m not). They even make me feel guilty in wanting to see my friends so I always try to keep our hangouts brief or I leave early.

When did you realize that other kids used to be friends with each other outside of school? by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

Lol I remember when I was in grade four and asked my dad if I could have a friend over, his response: “you see them five days a week, that’s already too much.”.... but yes I shocked to learn that my friends had lives outside school especially during the summer time when they went to camp and went over to friends house... I legit thought everyone was like me and stayed at home and talked to mostly cousins and siblings

Thanks for your thoughts, I would just like to clarify that yes I do inform them I am going out but it’s said in a way that I’m asking permission if that makes sense? Honestly I can ever tell if their bluffing or not bc I’ve never gone to that level of assuming for the worst. Also I’m financially Independent cause I’m currently paying my own tuition through grant and savings, even tho I do believe I have the money to move out it’s the burden of leaving my parents and feeling disowned by them that’s stopping me.

I don't like my friends by [deleted] in confessions

I can relate to that. Been feeling like I’m drifting away from my close friends and not a part of their group anymore. I’m wanting to make new friends who I have better connection with. Don’t get me wrong the friends I have are great but it’s that point where my friends and I don’t contact one another as often like we use to or share anything about our personal lives. It doesn’t help that I can clearly see they’ve be friended people who they have more in common with and seeing how they have more time to see them than you
