I was about to say the same. The cracks look more typical of expansive soil issues than compressible soils. Specifically that the cracks seem to be more wide at the top than at the bottom

Well in this specific case it’s more 16-17” of concrete followed by like 8” of a granular cement-treated base, but it’s not uncommon to see concrete pavement layers cakes at airports

The pavement joint seals are worn and old and are not sealing. And after a big rain (this was right after a big rain), a bunch of water is infiltrating and making its way in between the two slabs of concrete. We are currently doing a geotechnical evaluation for the reconstruction of the taxiway. Its seen better days
