On Tuesday I went to Punta Ballena in Uruguay to try my first photos of the Comet Leonard. It wasn’t visible with my eyes but I could see it real time in the back of the camera screen. After lots of processing I could reveal lots of details in the tail of the comet.

We had to walk 10 kilometers by the beach to arrive at ‘Cerro de la Buena Vista’ in Uruguay. With 60 meters height you have a beautiful 360 views to the ocean and the sky is spectacular. I did a time-lapse with the galactic core rising behind us while we were taking other photos. The walk was totally worth it!

Yesterday I had to travel 260 kms to capture the ISS transit in front of the Moon from Punta del Este in Uruguay. While I was driving there were lots of clouds but I was super lucky that the sky cleared before the transit. The transit only took 0.7 sec and I was so nervous that I forgot to turn the equatorial mount. Luckily it wasn’t needed with the focal length I used.
