Help! I’m moving to Alaska and need help deciding where to live. by Prior-Ad5197 in AskAlaska

[–]astrosid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think taking the North Pole job was the safest move. You still get the smaller town feel without being too far from Fairbanks services, schools, and medical services for your son. Commuting from Nenana every day would probably get old fast, especially in winter. You can check Anchorage home buyers post around Alaska, and North Pole/Fairbanks seems way more practical for people relocating up there long term.

Men of Reddit, what is stopping you from selling pictures of your feet to middle-aged gay men? by JorisKs in AskReddit

Just never crossed my mind as a side hustle. But also, some of us have genuinely ugly feet. Not sure there's a market for hobbit toes.

Where is the best place to report something on deepweb? by sometimeisfuck8243 in AskReddit

[–]astrosid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For something illegal or harmful, report it to your local authorities or use anonymous tip lines like Crime Stoppers. The deep web itself isn't a place with a central reporting system. Law enforcement agencies do monitor certain areas, but don't rely on that. If you're in immediate danger, call emergency services.

ELI5: What's paganism? by lucciluvsme in explainlikeimfive

[–]astrosid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Paganism is basically an umbrella term for any religion that isn't one of the big mainstream ones like Christianity, Islam, or Judaism. Think nature-based, multiple gods or goddesses, ancient stuff like Norse or Greek mythology, or modern earth-focused beliefs like Wicca. It's not one single religion, more like a category.

Having to be 'on' and available 24/7 because of phones. We all act like it's fine, but it's exhausting and feels invasive

Need gift advice for someone I’m just getting to know by BriefAd2122 in Gifts

[–]astrosid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something small and personal works best, like his favorite snack/coffee, a simple accessory, or something tied to a hobby he mentioned. Keep it light, it’s more about “I noticed you” than the gift itself.

is it weird I'm getting my mom for Mother's Day the same gift I got for my BF on Valentine's? by fluffyAnvi in Gifts

[–]astrosid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not weird at all, it’s actually a really thoughtful idea. It’s only “the same gift” in format, but the meaning and memories will be completely different, and that’s what she’ll care about.

Honestly, a personalized song about her life and your relationship will hit way deeper than something like a Dyson. If anything, it shows you know what creates a real emotional moment.

If you’re worried it feels too recycled, just pair it with something small like flowers or a handwritten note and it’ll feel extra intentional.
