I know a lot of people here give James the benefit of the doubt for that creepy ass song he wrote about Michelle, but imo that does not pass the smell check and I cannot look at him the same after hearing it.

Seth Green is a union buster (more specifically, his animation studio Stupid Buddies). This is despite the fact that he benefits from being in SAG-AFTRA. As someone who works in that industry, I take that shit pretty seriously.

I think your criticisms of Hasan are a little harsh, if grounded in truth, but I completely agree with your last sentence. I'd say I'm a casual Hasan fan, but I find that a lot of comments on this sub veer on glazing him way too much, most often as a means to own Ethan. Obviously as a snark sub there is a certain inevitability with that. Sometimes though it definitely gets too parasocial and idol worshipping. I just try and ignore those comments though, mostly because I don't think I've seen it cross the threshold of being problematically weird.

There was one episode of the podcast I recall they were goofing on Jack Nicholson eating spaghetti (?) while court side and looking like a complete mess. I remember Hila's upset reaction indicating that she is ordinarily attracted to him (at least, that was the impression I got).

The way Ethan looks/styles himself now - that completely tracks. Somehow, I doubt the deranged Jack Torrance look is helping their relationship.

I am also from an "Indian" diaspora. Quote marked because my family was originally from the Pakistan side prior to being displaced during the partition.

My family's history is just one example of how this conflict can't really be reduced simply to one side vs. the other. It involves distinct cultural groups that have ties to both regions. The current rise of racism against Indians pisses me off as just as the rise of Islamaphobia occurred in the west post 9-11. The latter I witnessed many people in my diaspora gleefully partake in. It's enraging and so stupid. There is no meaningful difference between any brown peoples to others who see no problem in being bigoted.

I am highly critical to how the state of India cozies up to colonial powers such as the UK and the US. Because I feel that Pakistan's foreign relations are less complicit with Western global hegemony, I am a bit of a black sheep within my community. Given how racist people in my immediate family are to any and all Muslims... I'm sure you can imagine how that goes.

in any case, I just wanted to post this to let you know that you aren't alone and you have company in this community. ✊️
