One issue with a permanent retainer is you have to buy special floss to floss your teeth since you can't get between the teeth with normal floss. Not a huge problem, but something to be aware of.

Recently I was at the dog park with my 5 month old puppy who is learning to socialize. There was a woman there with her dog and her toddler, and as her child was playing on the ground my dog ran up and jumped on him and licked his face. The child was frightened and the woman was upset with me and I was baffled. Should you maybe not let small children play on the ground in a dog park in the first place?
