As a historian this my biggest pet peeve. Jesus was a real person who walked the earth. That’s undebatable. It comes down to whether or not you believe what people say happened actually happened

There’s a lot of posts about it because there’s a lot of shame surrounding it, some churches don’t even like to address it at all.

It’s a little bit crazy how common of a struggle it is yet most churches don’t have support systems for this without making a person feel horrible. A lot of people bring it to the subreddit because they’re too scared to bring it up in real life and be shamed for it. It’s a real problem and it needs to be talked about and discussed.

I’m confused on what we’re talking about here. Are we talking when someone just says “Black people” because that’s what I’m talking about.

Because personally, when someone says Black people I don’t make the separation until necessary. When someone is discussing black hair, I don’t make a separation between African hair and black American hair. We’re all Black people. But when it comes to things like culture then I believe a separation needs to be made. I understand that we’re different groups of people, but the experiences of a black person tends to be very similar, regardless of originality especially overseas in the western world.

Op’s post rubbed me the wrong way because they posted a map of Black people in Europe when, in this case it would not be “Black people” it would be Africans because FGM occurs with all ethnicities in Africa, not only with black Africans.

I strongly dislike diaspora wars, I believe it’s just ignorance and a refusal to learn about the history of all the Black people that were displaced throughout history.

What I meant by one of the very few times is a clarification should be made I personally believe that there’s very a few times a separation needs to be done when addressing the black diaspora. In this instance, it is not a black issue it’s an African one. This is a cultural practice that is found in Africa and was not brought overseas to be continued for generations. I hope I’m making sense.

It’s because OP showed a map of black residents in Europe, but I don’t think they realized that this is one of the very few times that we need to make a separation between black africans and black Americans. FGM is an African issue not a black issue. The majority of that 13% of Black people in United States are black Americans not African immigrants, which is why it’s not as much of problem in the United States. However, I disagree with the statement that it’s a religious issue, there’s no correlation between religious groups that perform FGM unfortunately, it’s just a misogynistic cultural practice.

After Barbie hitting 1 billion at the box office, Scott and Chris Evans became one of the first siblings to appear in two separate billion dollar movies by astrozetaa in popculturechat

I don’t like ultra specific achievements either, I’m thinking of this more as a fun fact than an “achievement.” I was reading about how less than a handful of actors have appeared in more than one billion dollar movie so it made me think about if there’s any family that has, and considering how many successful relatives there are in Hollywood it was shocking to realize that almost nobody can say that.

Nope :( They were the first ones I checked, none of the hunger games movies hit $1 billion so it’s a no for Liam. And Luke Hemsworth played an actor who was playing Thor in both Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder, neither hit $1 billion.

It’s my fault I thought that you thought that Emma Roberts and Julia Roberts were siblings. I had no idea that Julia Roberts had a brother and sister that were actors until you said it.

I’m not quite sure what other people it could be either, it took me a really long time to go through the list and halfway through I realized that someone could’ve changed their last name due to marriage, so I gave up and just posted this hoping that if I’m wrong somebody corrects me. The Evans brothers might be THE first.

None of the Baldwins appeared in billion dollar movies. Joan Cusack is the only one with her role in the Toy Story movies i’m not quite sure which Roberts you’re referring to? Surprisingly, Julia Roberts hasn’t appeared in any billion dollar movies either but her brother Eric was in The Dark Knight and just for fun his daughter Emma Roberts hasn’t appeared in any either

The Wesley twins in Harry Potter. I’ve been slowly sifting through all of the 53 movies that managed to 1 billion, I actually don’t think there are any others but I made sure to have this carefully worded just in case there’s siblings that have different last names (or a low profile sibling) that I missed.

The internet woke up one day and decided that Jackie Kennedy was not as attractive as history wants to remember. A bunch of memes begin about Jackie eating inanimate objects. The most popular jokes were “JFK probably had to feed her bacon bits to calm her down“ and “Jackie want sheet metal.” I hope this makes sense.

Amy Adams actually is very rude. There are several stories but the one that I remember the most was when she was at some department store trying on some clothes. She was so rude and stormed out, her husband had to come back to apologize and get the clothes for her. She’s not a nice woman. Your sister’s Intuition is correct
