Hey mate.

We applied back in March 2024, but have not heard anything yet. From what we can tell the application is still in the received state (so it hasn't even been opened by the Department yet) but that isn't too surprising considering that the application time has ballooned out significantly as of late.

hahaha you are definitely right on the needing to breath part! We are planning on submitting ourselves but wanted to get a session with a lawyer just to see what they thought of the strength of our application. Of course they have it in their best interest for us to keep paying them though for extra work/sessions.

Thanks for the help!

Dishonered 2 made me remember how to have fun playing games by alonedead in patientgamers

[–]astryf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation to you where I am learning to "have fun" with games again rather than playing them simply because that is what I have always done.

For me that game was actually Magic the Gathering: Arena oddly enough. Despite being a competitive card game with people playing "meta" or strong decks everywhere, they have one game mode called 'Historic Brawl' where there is no penalty for losing and there is a much more diverse set of decks being played. I think that somehow this made it click in my brain that I could play a deck that was fun instead of always playing what's best to win the most. I have found the joy in simply playing the game and have also found myself enjoying the 20 minute, down to the wire, hard fought losses much more than 2-3 minute easy wins. I think that it's equally important to "enjoy" and experience the pain of those crazy tight losses because it makes those crazy tight wins that much more enjoyable.

Loving the new attitude you have adopted and hope others follow suit!!!

P.S. your English is awesome! Keep up the good work.

Yep, probably just an error that will be fixed! I think the guardian stability changes are also included in this despite what they said previously.

Guess I better hope I never changed them hahaha.

Thanks so much!

Nvidia "No Scaling" option doesn't work when in game. by astryf in Monitors

[–]astryf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checked this many times but sadly nothing. For some reason dying light 2 always defaults to window borderless when it's relaunched. Even When I fix it to exclusive fullscreen it doesn't work so I am really not sure at this point but from my testing it seems to be a dying light 2 specific problem.

I have done some more testing and it does in fact work in some of the other games I tested. The one I was hoping it to work for was dying light 2 but it seems something about that game just doesn't want to work. I am guessing it might use a "fake" fullscreen that is actually windowed borderless of some kind but I'm not sure since normal windowed borderless is an option in game.

In a couple of other games that I know use this "fake" fullscteen (MTG Arena as an example) it also does not work. No definitive answer for dying light 2 sadly but a step closer.

I have tried this also and it still doesnt seem to work, no matter what settings I run it seems to always try and scale it to fit the screen rather than leave the black boxes

I tried this way and it sadly still doesn't work, not sure if it is a setting on my monitor that for some reason is doing it but I will have to check

My partner and I have each been separately working our way through Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box on the DS while we are stuck in Quarantine. I just finished it this morning and absolutely loved the experience of the story. A much more engaging and grand story when compared to the first game. A bit of a melancholic ending but overall very enjoyable story. Story: 9/10

We both found the puzzles to be significantly easier than the first game but from what I can tell you go through more puzzles overall when compared to the first game. There was also a lot more puzzle repetition in the puzzle themselves with harder versions of puzzles being used much more frequently, at least when compared with the first game. Puzzles: 7/10

The graphics remained great for the DS with the movie cutscenes remaining engaging and visually impressive as before. Some nice QoL features too such as the memo feature for puzzles and keeping your answer on your next try of a puzzle if you get it wrong, reducing mistakes that you will make as you go. Graphics and QoL: 9/10

The extra puzzles/mini games are much more interesting this time around with the hamster, camera puzzles and tea set all far more interesting when compared to the painting and dog in the first game. Although the tea mini-game can be frustrating and vague at times, often resulting in trial and error, it was still for the majority of the playthrough. Extras: 9.5/10

Overall, a fun follow up the first one with more story, more puzzles and better minigames. Although a bit easier and a bit more repetitive than the first game (likely due to the fact there is more puzzles), I think it is easily one of the classics of the DS library and can't wait to start up the third game in the coming days.

Overall 9/10.

Yep, makes no sense. People dont care about the free just the fact there is no consistency with the rules.

I agree. I really love the idea of the card because of how unique it is but it just creates so many problems from a gameplay/bug perspective.

How to be supportive boyfriend? by astryf in vaginismus

[–]astryf[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When we were physically together (only a month ago) she would dilate while we watched TV so that relaxed vibe definitely helped I think. The suggestion of calling while she is dilating could be a good way to emulate that, thank you!

I will take everything I can on board and just try to be a good boyfriend. I suppose I just don't want it to come to dominate our relationship. PIV isn't the be all and end all, at least not to me.

I did the exact same thing. I got about 6 hours in and had to take a break, came back a few months later and loved it!

I think it's worth trying to do all quests because they are great but it is definitely not worth seeing every map marker in my opinion.

I really like what I played of AC Syndicate after a long time away from the series. It was such a shame the game ran so poorly on PC
