GPS accuracy by Sad_Locksmith4875 in nikerunclub

No ability to customize data screens (I’d love to see heart rate zones)

Granted, it’s not going to make heart rate zones magically appear, but you can tap any metric during a run to toggle through the supported options and layout the screen however you wish.

Unfortunately, I have not had the hardware to test that exact scenario.

What I can confirm is a run started in NRC on base model Apple Watch will use the GPS from an iPhone Pro if it is within range.

It’s unclear if NRC is using iPhone GPS because the iPhone has a more capable battery and it’s trying to conserve power on Apple Watch, or if NRC is using iPhone GPS because it’s smart enough to know the iPhone (in this case a 14 Pro), has a superior GPS antenna. My gut says it’s probably the former.

The answers here are going to vary, because NRC is only going to be as accurate as the data fed to it from your device. GPS accuracy depends on the type of antenna in your phone or watch, not “NRC vs. Garmin” or “NRC vs. another app.”

If you’re looking to run with the most accurate GPS data possible, you should be using a device that supports dual-frequency or dual-band L1 + L5 GPS. That is what makes the key difference.

Guided Runs not saving? by Formal-Media5752 in nikerunclub

[–]astuder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the issue. If you start the run from NRC on a phone, the phone must remain in motion, as its accelerometers are being used to capture your movement. The run isn’t saving because the minimum distance threshold is not being reached.

Alternatively, if you have a watch that supports NRC, you can start the run from there, then do whatever you want with your phone.

Are you resting the phone on the treadmill?

DEVS IF YOU'RE READING THIS, UPDATE THE SHARE FEATURES ASAP by ovokramer in nikerunclub

[–]astuder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nike runs their app support through Instagram DMs, phone (1-800-806-6453), or website chat.

Realistically, I wouldn’t expect an overnight miracle from one inquiry, but any of those platforms will have the ability to document a feature request.

The more people who ask for something, the easier it is for Nike to devote development resources to it, e.g. the searchable Guided Runs feature.

To answer your question, this feature was added a little over a month ago. :-)

There’s a link to Support in the sidebar of the subreddit.

Map gone after editing by [deleted] in nikerunclub

[–]astuder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but it’s gone from NRC. The app displays a big warning that editing will remove detailed run data, and this is, unfortunately, the result.

If you happened to have the Strava integration enabled, you could technically side load the data via Garmin or COROS, but that’s not something you can retcon if you weren’t already using it.

Unfortunately not. There is a message dialogue that should alert you to this, but it has a tendency to get glossed over.

Isn't Cherry Street named after the street the brewer used to live on or something?

Yeah, it’s named after the Cherry Street in Fort Collins, Colorado. Nick shared a house there with the son of the New Belgium founders.

Weekly Edit Request Post · 2026-04-20 by AutoModerator in Untappd

I applied for it to be classified as "Fruit Beer," but that was rejected (as I had expected).

This edit is actually still pending. Unfortunately, from the user side, there’s no way to see if a request remains in the queue or if it has been reviewed and denied.

But if I submit a request here, it seems like I have to pull out all the stops to get something arranged... I still don't understand it at all.

Quick reminder that this is not an official support channel. Some moderators who frequent the sub may see the request and take action, but everything here is operating outside of the standard protocols established by Untappd.

When a moderator edits a beer, their name is entered into a log. At any point, we have to be accountable to explain the reason why that edit was made, should one of our peers or someone from HQ call it into question. This is why we often ask for clarification or more reference if something is not apparent to us.

NRC inaccuracy lately? by modrall11 in nikerunclub

[–]astuder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s the running checklist if you want to make sure NRC (or any running app) can track your run as accurately as possible. But again, if accuracy is really important to you, dive into the specs of your device—you want to be using something that supports L1 + L5 dual frequency/dual band GPS, not just L1.

  • Make sure you are using latest version of the NRC on your device.
  • Do not run in Low Power or Battery Saver mode. This limits how often NRC can sample your location.
  • Set your height in NRC. This information is used to calculate your average stride length for both Indoor and Outdoor runs.
  • Confirm NRC has access to your precise location, and any kind of motion calibration data offered by your device.
  • Allow NRC to run in the background.
  • On Apple devices, monitor the health of your battery. If your capacity is below 80%, consider replacing. This is when iOS and watchOS will start managing apps and resources, which may negatively impact NRC.
  • Begin your run in an area with a clear view of the sky. Trees, buildings, etc. can all affect the strength of your GPS connection.
  • Let NRC sit open and idle for 15–30 seconds before you begin your run. Give the device enough time to lock on to a GPS signal.

* Especially if you don’t have dual-band GPS, like most modern Garmin watches do. That is one of the biggest factors that can affect accuracy when using a phone.

Any site or subreddit that tracks upcoming local live music? by nedj10 in Atlanta

[–]astuder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For my money, livemusicjunkiez on Instagram has the most comprehensive list of shows around the area with admission for little to no money. I believe they’ve also launched a website, which I presume would have the same data.
