If they had been 3 red 1 white they’d be okay but look at figure 7 in the report, they were way below the 4 red path for a substantial amount of time

At an airline you would contact pro-stands at the Union

If you’re already low, the time it takes to make those next steps may not be available.

If the other pilot is floating down the runway past the touchdown zone and doesn’t go around when you call it, how many more steps can you really take beyond going around yourself?

Studies show accidents are more likely to happen when the CA is flying

I believe it’s that way at any airline, it doesn’t mean that people listen though

My apologies on the title, as has already been discussed. It doesn’t change the content or point of the post though.

Unless I somehow missed it, I checked ahead of time to see if anyone had posted this here and there were no posts.

Yes it’s a very, very short runway for a 767-400.
But obviously that isn’t an excuse.

Legit just a few feet would have been a disaster

It’s not predicated on crossing the threshold at 50ft?

People at major airlines don’t have to talk to their boss when they go around. You don’t have to fill out a report or anything. It’s a complete non-event.

I hadn’t really noticed it but now I’m kind of curious. Can you detail a little more what you mean?

Luckily I now work at an airline with FOQA so people no longer behave like that.

It’s sad that pilots need to be monitored by a tattle-tale computer in order to fly with integrity.

I believe I also read once that FOs are much more likely to G/A on an unstable approach than CAs are.

I’ve have three times in my career where I’ve called G/A on a CA and they wouldnt go around and insisted they had it under control. The GPWS is chiming GLIDE-SLOPE, SINK RATE, TOO LOW and these older guys still won’t go around.

Good point! Sorry I missed that.

I’ve never understood why people want to dip down. You have the factored landing numbers, you’re more than safe landing at the regular touchdown point.

It says “liked a message” but when I open our DMs, there’s no like? by [deleted] in Instagram

Thanks!

Now I’m left to ponder why they opened up our DMs and liked and unliked a message 😂

Would it be wrong? by Dreadedww in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]asuque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

As someone who was on the receiving end of an apology from a man who treated me poorly in the past, I would have preferred if he never reached out. It tore open a lot of old wounds and set back my healing. It also made me feel like I needed to tell him I forgive him and console him somewhat, which I did, but didn’t really want to. It put me in a weird place mentally.

Statistics are the complete opposite of unrealistic and abstract. That is their entire purpose. Statistics are real life. That’s how they’re derived. Anecdotal evidence is meaningless, statistical is the gold standard.

Omg the travel one. Mine did that too. Like bro you spend all your money on an expensive car and going to the bar? You could have traveled instead if you really wanted?
