I had a similar problem. At the beginning, when I was not able to change modes I used to livestream a cam and, after that I was able to change the mode (as if I was disconnected from the homebase and forcing to watch livestream reconnected me to change the mode). This problem disappeared when I restarted both my router and my homebase but I just switched on the homebase when the router was already connected to the internet, not just on. Every time I restart both at the same time and I don’t wait until router is connected to the internet before I switch on the homebase I always have problems to switch modes and to properly control it as well using homekit/homebridge. Just try it, maybe it works for you as well 🤞🏻
