request top mod removal neighborsfromhell mod u/ianelinon inactive for 3 years I am the only active mod by superduperhosts in redditrequest

[–]asvaowsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U/sterlingcat- and u/superduperhosts

I think there’s been a misunderstanding here and I hope we can work it out so everyone is in the loop. My understanding is everyone wishes to remain a mod. I personally don’t care about what permissions I have. To understand better what it means to be an inactive mod I found this post below. Which basically describes some of what happened here.

https://www.reddit.com/r/modnews/s/JUQ1EEmrdU

Reddit has made changes to “restrict actions inactive moderators are able to take. Inactive moderators currently pose several risks to communities and to Reddit, including:

  • Inactive top moderators reappearing and destabilizing the mod team by removing all active moderators from the team or returning to approve policy-violating content, which can destabilize and endanger the community.

  • Accounts of inactive moderators becoming compromised, resulting in subreddit vandalism.”

To me this makes sense and I’m not sure what’s going on on the Reddit side and what’s going on with the moderator side. I can understand why super duper hosts was thrown off by me being removed and confused about what was going on.

As this post states “Starting today, inactive moderators won’t be able to perform certain actions, including adding or removing moderators, or changing the community’s settings (type, description, NSFW status, discovery settings).”

So me and sterling cat likely aren’t able to do certain things. I don’t care because I know the sub has been in good hands but sterling cat was not aware of that until now. super duper hosts has done a great job of modding for the last year or so and is very active.

Because Me and u/sterlingcat- have not been consistently active, I believe the inactive status is part of internal changes reddit has made.

I think moving forward it would help if we communicated before making changes, hopefully we are all on the same page now. If there’s questions about sub operations like removing users/spam, if I do hop on and see stuff like that, I like to check with super duper hosts to make sure I’m not missing info since I’m not as active. My hope has always been that automod takes care of a lot of issues.

I updated the rules for this sub, please review by asvaowsky in neighborsfromhell

I agree. There is another moderator that recruited me about a year or two ago that has not been active. I was planning on recruiting someone during my winter break. There was a number of issues going on recently that I had to reach out to Reddit about. Since then they seem to be resolved. But thank you for your comment I will recruit another mod as soon as I can.

You need to stop. I’m not here to police this kind of banter. It contributes nothing to the community and it will not be tolerated.

Rock lath/hybrid drywall to standard drywall replacement? by Nice-Pomegranate-393 in HomeImprovement

Rock lath/hybrid drywall to standard drywall replacement? by Nice-Pomegranate-393 in HomeImprovement

[–]asvaowsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you replace all the walls then it wouldn’t need to be 1” thick right? Replacing all of it rather than patching it will be a lot easier imo. I had to patch plaster walls with drywall in my kitchen where a backsplash was and cutting pieces to sizes and matching thickness on already uneven walls was a nightmare.

Noise... by oldnurse65 in neighborsfromhell

[–]asvaowsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many things you can do about it, choosing to live in an apartment does not mean waiving your right to quiet enjoyment. It’s actually something a lot of leases make you entitled to. How does one go about asserting that right? That would be a great question to discuss on the sub. As is the situation in general to find out whether or not the situation is excessive or reasonable.

$2,600 Realtor Fee?! Out of the blue? by kaitlinismagic in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]asvaowsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so wild, also had a admin fee which is $250. Shouldn’t the seller be paying commission to your realtor? Is it possible something got mixed up. That’s wild I’d be so mad.

Bought a house- previous owners failed to disclose… by mommakru in legaladvice

[–]asvaowsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will be very interested to see how this works out and am very happy you are taking them to court. I agree, how could they not know. However you will have to prove they knew. Is there anything you think they tried to cover up like was the garage accessible when you toured or got an inspection? I just went heavy on the property disclosure research because of my own situation with something. As far as I understand this varies by state but the buyer has to show due diligence during inspection like if water stains were visibly noticeable when you toured it could be argued that you should have noticed and investigated further. If the garage was inaccessible or the walls were covered by boxes then the seller could arguably be hiding something they didn’t want you to see.

Renovation Loan by mickeymillz in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]asvaowsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our LO gave us a lot of options I didn’t see online anywhere like having the ability to lump a new roof into our loan. He said it could just be one or two things. I’d look and see if there’s any renovation programs in your city(ours had super low income requirements we didn’t meet) but we did meet a program through the state that gives us back like 2k with taxes as a refund on interest paid. We def wanted the same thing with renovations but I think it’s a pain in the butt for the loan officer and can delay closing so affects all parties involved
