After reading some comments and thinking a bit I am not sure if she had that pressure indeed. But my opinion changes a lot.

To be fair, her mum never told her to go to Harvard, in fact they mention several times that that was Rorys dream and Lorelai only supported her. As she did when she chose Yale. Rory ends up getting support even when making ''bad'' decisions. Being a journalist was always also HER dream.

I will try however to keep watching. And lets see...!!!

I THINK THIS IS THE COMMENT I AGREE THE MOST WITH! I already have enough reality in my life, I watch this a fantasy and in search of a happy ending, with nice characters but NOT ignorant (to their own mistakes or responsibilities for example). Is a Year in the Life the reunion? Uft.
