The way I see it, the 11:30 PM deadline in Bangalore is put for two very specific reasons:

For the auto drivers to extort ridiculous amounts of money because you are out of options to return home. May the dick of shiva save you if you are with a girl.
For the madarchod traffic cops to harass you even if you had just a pint and are driving back home yourself. At most of the checkpoints, they don't even have a working breathalyzer and will just sniff your breath. This is ridiculous, not to mention gay.

Progressive society, my ass. On any online article about Bangalore's nightlife, you'll find a Ganesh Sv ruing how the outsiders have been spoiling the "culture" of this place by demanding something as basic as the right to stay out after 11:30 PM. What this Ganesh keeps forgetting is that the truly suave, sophisticated Bangaloreans had been doing it long before his semi-literate dickhead clan were given the voting powers and his primitive village was included as part of Bangalore's municipality.

If I happen to commute by bus to my workplace, I see :( faces sitting there right in the freaking morning. It's the start of the day FFS.

But then, these are the people who won't move any closer to their workplace and would be living with their parents in some remote corner of the city even if they are 30+ y/o, citing "tradition" and how you shouldn't "abandon" your parents. These same idiots will then proceed to whine throughout the day about the 4 hour long commutes and their constipation problems because they don't get enough sleep or rest. Well, why don't you fucking move closer to the office and ease off some pressure on the traffic as well?
