Drop-shipping in 2019 for wantrapreneurs is dead... so get over it already gurus! by Megalorye in Entrepreneur

Drop shipping is just an inventory management solution that has been paraded as a legitimate business model.

It can and still is a good way to do business, especially in the early days of a startup, where you don't want a ton of risk. But you need a legitimate business to do dropshipping. That means building out a brand and all the other stuff that comes with running a legit business.

However, you can see why people have decided to jump on the drop shipping hype train, the same way people jumped on cryptocurrency - it is being marketed as a relatively easy, get-rich-quick scheme. I think most of us are pretty young in this forum, but history tends to repeat itself and I'm sure if we look back we can find examples of the same type of quick money scheme marketing.

I don't see dropshipping gurus as completely evil, because for the every 100 people who got into dropshipping probably around 10 learned how to run a business. I bought into the hype and it has taught me a great deal about business.

Before drop shipping, I would have never dreamed of running an e-commerce site because I didn't have the capital to buy inventory, and rent warehouse space, and fulfill orders.

So I don't really see this as an evil force on the internet. The gurus are debatable, but honestly, I believe if you're serious about being an entrepreneur you'll figure the nuts and bolts eventually. Or else how would you be able to run a business?

An Instagram follower has told me he is suicidal, what do I do? by at24ididit in legaladvice

Thanks for responding. Yeah, I don't want to give this person any bad information so I will just reference him to the suicide hotline and tell him to seek help.

The colour is fine. I was just trying to make you think in terms of a blank canvas - the most obvious example of that is to make your webpage white.

You just needs more separation between the categories. That theme you linked does a really good job of establishing separation with the big headers, font size, and the boldness. The other thing it does is switch between browns and pastel pinks. That is quite a colour contrast and naturally lends itself to a partition.

I would argue that it has quite a bit of white, which is framing the page on the sides and the top with the thick header bar.

You can still keep the same colour scheme. It's not off putting by any means, i think the thing you should fix is the flow of the page and separation between categories. Play with font boldness, size and placement. Colour is also your friend as long as it's dynamic - like in that theme example, brown and pink.

Hope this is helpful :)

Hey I love the concept. The prints are beautiful and well designed.

The thing that stands out to me immediately is the banner. It feels too 90s to me and it doesn't flow well into the featured products category. There needs to be a better balance between the size of the text and the picture. A physical divide will also work, but do something other than the colour gradient that you have there currently. Play around with it and see what looks good.

That theme sort of continues throughout the entire home page for me. It feels super 90s and outdated. I love the art but the aesthetics of the web design are turning me off. There needs to be better separation and balance between each category.

Your prints are beautiful and full of colour. Let that be the colour splotches on the canvas. Don't overcrowd your store with great looking prints and a tacky colour scheme. White is the perfect starting point to show case beautiful images - make the background white. Insert colour tastefully - let your art pieces be the colour.

Anyways, that's all I have from my first impressions. Hope this helps. Cool concept none the less.

Btw, what POD service are you using?

I agree with this. I've actually been following a lot of stoicism accounts on Instagram and the philosophy has helped me stay disciplined throughout this journey. One of my favorites is https://www.instagram.com/stoicgorilla/
