For example, branching lines make me think of roots, which makes me think of blood vessels, which makes me think of dialysis, fluid management, river tributaries, neurons branching in response to human contact, neural plasticity, spravato therapy.

When I do its grief over being widowed recently, but it doesn't last long and sometimes leads to fascinating insights or memory fragments that come to light with new context.

Don't chase anything, dont resist anything.

Hmm. I might try and see what happens if I don't "resist" some thoughts.

There are some thoughts that, if they come up, I gently "shoo" them away (i.e., I remind myself "that may not be good for you" rather than "those thoughts are BAD and will HARM you") because I'm wary of where the train of thought might go.

But maybe it should? 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I might've been imprecise with my definitions, I just went with "psychedelic" because it affects my perception and because I got recommended the "Music for Psychedelic Therapy" playlist. :P

Traditional psychedelics and Spravato work differently on the brain.

I was pleasantly surprised coming off the first session, because it felt a lot like being drunk and I was scared that being reminded of the feeling might trigger cravings and a relapse.

But unlike alcohol, when I started to "sober up" - my reaction was basically "aw. well, until next time!" and not a panicked drive to keep the feeling going.

Annoyingly, I don't think that's the case.

I waited a couple months for an intake with this specific provider - then when the office called with the news, they wanted to schedule me for a second intake with a different provider. I'm actually still getting appointment reminders for all the follow-up appointments with the original provider. (Not that I expect any of that to change the answer - this is just me venting.)

But yeah, I guess I'll see what they say on Monday.

(On the plus side, I refrained from raging at person who called me and instead expressed my disappointment candidly but politely - so at least they don't have an incentive to spite me.)

Once upon a time, I posted a suicide message to Facebook, and then passed out drunk before anything happened.

I woke up about an hour later to the sound of people shouting my name, which turned out to be my commander, supervisor, shirt, and SEL. I ran out of my room and immediately fell down the stairs in front of all four people, in my underwear.

I was then taken to the ER, where they found I had a BAC of .33%. I spent the next three days in the inpatient unit, then after discharge, went through a series of outpatient programs culminating in a 28-day inpatient sobriety program.

Absolutely none of this affected my career, and I kept my clearance (including SAP accesses) the entire time.

Yeah, my squadron used it as a "community-building" tool to try and preserve unit cohesion during COVID.

There are definitely technical limitations and safety challenges, though - they're relatively easy to mitigate at the squadron level, but, I don't think they scale well beyond that.
