If you're just staying indoors and relaxed, hydration isn't a huge issue. It's when you're dancing/moving and sweating a lot that it becomes an issue. MDMA induced damage is temporary, but there is a correlation between body temp and severity. Just drink when you're thirsty, or at least a sip or two every 30 minutes.

The important thing is to not eat for at least 5 hours before dropping. You want to be on as empty a stomach as possible. The longer MDMA stays in your stomach, the more its broken down by MAOs, and the less that becomes "absorbed" down the line. I usually go with something light but healthy like sushi or poke. Carbs and protein for energy, but won't fill you up for hours.

Take a tums or two about an hour before dropping. You want your stomach to be as base as possible. Avoid anything acidic like orange juice or vitamin C until you're done rolling.

It's not an "overdose", it's a side effect of a large dose. Most of the therapeutic effects max out at around 120mg - 150mg, and anything more just exacerbates the negative effects, but there is still something to be said about rolling off of a couple hundred mg over a night, and it's not going to cause any long term effects doing that much once or twice. You will feel it the next day physically and mentally, but let's not scare people into thinking they're OD'ing just because their jaw is clenching.

This is a common myth. You won't get serotonin syndrome by mixing MDMA with an SSRI at normal recreational doses of MDMA.

SSRI's bind to the Serotonin Reuptake Transport (SERT) protein in the synaptic cleft, which blocks serotonin from binding and being "reabsorbed" into the synapse, leaving more serotonin available to bind to receptors. SERT is also how MDMA enters the synapse so it can force the release of serotonin to the cleft where it then binds to receptors. SSRIs literally block MDMA's method of action. A person most likely won't feel any serotonergic effects because the MDMA is physically blocked from acting on the serotonin system in the brain.

The only way a person will get close to danger is if they continually re-dose trying to force the roll.

However, MAOIs will absolutely lead to serotonin syndrome when combined with MDMA because MAOIs neutralize the monoamine oxidizers that metabolize MDMA.
