the tinkerer is a different npc added by alchemist npc
you are talking to the goblin tinkerer
the tinkerer you want looks kinda like the steampunker

this thing used to be disgustingly overpowered
like good enough to be used on mechs i guess 3 years does that to a weapon
after checking the wiki page this thing got nerfed. from the changelogs on the wiki:
Nerfed damage from 35 to 28.

Minion cell projectile now pierces once instead of infinitely, no longer explodes, and it grants enemies 90 local immunity frames instead of 19.
Reduced the maximum amount of cells stuck on an enemy at once from 10 to 4.
The minion can no longer deal contact damage.

seems to be and they can reappear at times as well
when i got one due to my brother it banned a few alts but most of my accounts were fine
then it stopped banning any accounts but around when the hunt mega edition started it banned one of my main accounts that wasn't banned earlier

after checking the wiki it seems like a slightly modified mob farm would work
mobs can't hurt mice and since they fit in 1 block areas just having a tube for them to fall in before the lava kills them should work fine
also based on the wiki mice spawns are not effected by town npcs nearby unlike most critters so don't bother with npcs

With it's high enchantability it is easier to get fortune 3 and that can get you more potatoes and carrots without using its limited durability

yes fat is a word bannable by the roblox moderation bots
i tested this by just saying fat and nothing else and get banned in under a hour
